YaK
My gut feeling is that Doan re-signs in Phoenix. If not then I still think Vancouver has as good a chance as anybody.
Fanuck
We need to get rid out Luongo before signing Doan, which will take a while
needtogetswole
Majority of the time when 11 teams are as interested as they are in DOAN - they will all submit a offer - doesn't matter if you were first or last it's what appeals to him... he's not going to accept a contract offer because it was the first one he heard of ... he will wait a while - look at all the offers and then think about it.. so CALM DOWN! there's plenty of time. Angry Goose
What a joke, why hasn't MG given a contract offer???
SAnuck
I still think hes gonna re-sign in Phoenix. If he doesn't I think hes heading for Vancouver!
WolfxHaley
Doan's agent says Canucks are scheduled to talk to him Tues night. Calm down and let MG do his job.

WolfxHaley
Your name is very accurate. Judging from this post, you must have permanent brain damage,
HockeyHobo73
I think the real reason he is waiting it out in Phoenix is because he wants to see if the UFO returns... He missed it the first time around...
AndyBernard
I think MG is putting most of this into Gilman's hands. So if theres anyone to blame if he signs elsewhere i'st LG. VanGnome
I doubt we would get Doan. We need to get rid out Luongo before signing Doan, which will take a while
Primal Optimist
What shadowgoon said is correct, and not only that but Kesler has a five million contract, that will be LTIR money for a couple months, that COULD if it is a couple months plus about 12 days parlay into a 2m dollar break off a potential doan contract, with the 2m made up with relief money from the LTIR..so without subtracting any salary from the current depth chart, we can offer him 5m, not bad really. Then over summer, maybe change up some stuff as in ship out raymond, lu or one or two bottom line guys...you get what i am saying...

Airjasper
For once I just have this weird feeling that we might actually sign the guy we all want over here. I really think a guy like Doan could push us over the top. Our top 6 would be crazy.
The Bookie
MG doesn't need to offload Luongo before signing anyone. The team can go over the 70.2 million cap by 10% (just over 7 million), MG just has to be cap compliant by the first day of the regular season, or the Canucks are fined and forfeit a 1st round pick iirc. Either way, if Gillis & Co want Doan, they will not let the cap and Luongo get in the way of it.
Gady
You are alluding to a concept so far above the comprehension of most CDC members that it seems like crazy talk to them. In their minds it works like this, Doan good, MG get Doan or you dumb and we replace you, now add pictures to thread or useless.
grandmaster
Ok so...where is our offer to Doan? MG apparently spoke to Doan's agent last night no?
Donky
I would be extremely surprised to see Doan as a Canuck. I'd put the odds at about 50-1 and that is being generous.
