Stars are in a good position. Great goaltending, Great forward depth and youngsters as well as vets to teach them.

Their defence is flawed though.

ain't is not a word.

Neither is aint (no apostrophe), but I gather from the response he doesn't care.

ain't is not a word.

According to who? It's widely used, and is in most dictionaries, although labelled 'informal' or 'colloquial'. I think that meets the definition of a word.

Grammar Police, I knew within the first 5 posts there would of be someone saying something about it, but thought the opposite since aint is not the right word, but ain't is the right word.

I didn't realize people would get so defensive about me telling someone that 'aint or ain't' is not a word.

Whether people use it or not - it is not a word in the official dictionary.

Unless if we're in a forum that's actually about the dictionary, it shouldn't matter if it ain't a word. It's still commonly used enough.

Nope, Lehtonen had the best numbers out of any goalie whose team's gameplan wasn't "Be ridiculously defensive, all of the time". He is the sole reason that team came anywhere close to the playoffs last year.

EDIT: Granted that could have been a one year thing, but last season, Lehtonen was a great goalie.

"Ain't" may be used by folks to convey an idea, message or other similar communication of intelligent thought, however, those of us reading ''ain't" reserve the right to judge your idea, message or communicated thought as being poor quality by your choice to use "ain't"

There, everyone happy now? You have the right to sound ignorant, but we have the right to think your ignorant.

Thanks P.O.

Summed up my thoughts nicely.

Furthermore - if I wanted to prove that I was smart on the internet, I believe I would tackle a more in depth topic, rather then discussing whether aint was a word are not.

Well said Kari gave the stars a chance to win every night. They were very inconsistent offensively down the stretch. They'e started hot out te gate two seasons in a row. They need to figure out how to play in January and February. Hopefullu Jagr and Whitney show them how its done.
