[Signing] Mueller to Panthers

I does create a lot of depth for them, and he's not necessarily better than any of their current options considering his injury history, so perhaps they are looking to deal someone away to get something they couldn't find on free agency.

having a ton of natural centres seems like the growing trend of success in the nhl. it certainly allows for a lot of line juggling to find chemistry when things go dry.

Not a bad gamble, imo.

Now give us Bjugstad Tallon!

Toronto is converting JVR to center, they need centers. Mueller could be their 1st line center, thats how average they are down the middle.

Mueller plays all 3 forward positions. He mainly played LW with Colorado.

Great low risk high reward signing by Florida. They got rewarded by Fleischmann last season and they'll be rewarded this coming season by Mueller.

Florida needs a 2nd line C, I'm not sure if they plan to have Huberdeau play C or wing, he played this past season on the wing while Coyle centered I believe. I don't feel Marcel Goc is a 2nd line C more of a very good 3C.

It's possible as Mueller has more offensive potential than Goc for a 2C role. Huberdeau might play top 6 wing and then they have Matthias, Bjugstad and Howden for depth options for the foreseeable future, room to move some perhaps.

He means replacing Bjugstad for when they trade him to us rather than Huberdeau.

Fleischmann - Weiss - Versteeg

Bergenheim - Goc - Mueller

Upshall - Matthias - Kopecky

Parros - Santorelli - Skille

Kuba - Campbell

Jovanovski - Gudbranson

Kulikov - Weaver

Theodore

Clemmensen

Also got some prospects such as Huberdeau and Howden who could make the team.

Wow so many implications following this...

Good that the Panthers got him. I'm sure the Canucks could have offered more than 1.75m.

This shows flashbacks of the Fleischmann signing.

Fleischmann 2010/11 with Colorado: 22gp; 8g/13a/21 pts

Now Fleischmann with Florida; 82gp; 27g/34a/61pts

Mueller 2009/10 with Colorado: 15gp; 9g/11a/20pts

Mueller with Florida; ???

Congrats dude. This is the 2nd off season in a row Florida signed an injury prone player from Colorado. Fleishman turned it around, Mueller will to

All these signings from Florida is making their team quite cluttered... I guess they are planning to offload a few players in a trade :bigblush:

Getting Mueller wouldn't have changed the fact we need a top 6 player.

Mueller would have been a third line center option for us if we were unable to acquire one through a Luongo deal.
