The Sedin's 6th Sense
*Speculation, I think* http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/high-rick-nash-price-tag-blue-jackets-trade-160758634.html "The price was high. I don't apologize for that. It had to be high," he said. How high? "It's high, that's all I'm going to say."

TOMapleLaughs
Howson is playing this smarter than people are giving him credit for. He is in absolutely no hurry. The only people in a hurry are Nash and those who'll have to cave in to Howson's demands.
Mr. White
Howsen is an idiot. He won't get anywhere near what he wants for Nash. I would offer Dubinsky, McDonagh, Hagelin, 1st. No more than that, Nash isn't worth nearly as much as Howsen wants.
GHL
Howsen will get fired over this and Nash will be traded as a panick move by their next GM.

MoneypuckOverlord
Howson gets canned before he trades Nash. He's asking for too much.

Blueberries
yes overrated but a consistent 30 goal scorer on a crap team leads most GM's to believe that given a better supporting cast he will do better. Thats not always the case but it has some merit. If you have to sell the farm to buy the crop then whats the point you will still have everything"Wasted on the Way" to the deal
canucks_dynasty
Howson's getting greedy. Stupidly asking for 3 roster players, NYR top prospect, and a 1st. At most Nash is almost...almost Pronger-like value. So top 6F, top 4D, prospect, and two 1st. Nash for Dubinsky, McDonagh, prospect Miller, and two 1st. grandmaster
After seeing this, I don't want MG anywhere near considering getting this guy. Wow I wonder if Nash holds out at the start of the season....no way anyone is gonna trade with demands like this!
tas
why does everybody think that these moves have to get done by the middle of july? if howson has lasted this long, he won't get fired for refusing to throw away nash for whatever offers he's getting two months before training camp starts. Hamhuis2
All of these poster proposing involving McDonagh+ in a trade for Nash should really watch McDonagh play. I watched about 30 Rangers games this year, a fair sized amount, and I've talked to many Rangers fans and trust me, McDonagh is the real deal. I'm not claiming to know everything about him, but based on what I've seen and heard, this kid is already considered their best d man with a blue line that consists of guys like Girardi and Staal (and Del Zotto). McDonagh is really solid at both ends of the rink. I remember wanting the Canucks to get him for Tanev+Raymond+1st a year ago before the amazing year he just had. O well =(. If I'm the Rangers, and CBJ want a young d man, I'm giving them Del Zotto or even Staal before Mcdonagh. Finally, my revised proposal would be: To CBJ: Del Zotto, Dubinsky, Erixson, 1st To NYR: Nash OR To CBJ: Staal, Dubinsky, 2nd To NYR: Nash
DeNiro
Howson clearly wants a star player to replace Nash. Without a big name player to put people in the seats, Columbus is going to struggle even more than it has. I think a team like Anaheim offering up Bobby Ryan and some picks and prospects would be way more enticing for him.
