vancanfan
http://ducks.ocregis...h-ducks/111992/ Teemu Selanne, who sits 12th on the NHL’s all-time scoring list with 663 goals, is back for one more season with the Ducks as he agreed to a one-year contract on Thursday. Selanne, who turned 42 on July 3, went beyond his own initial timetable to decide whether he’d play again but he delivered some positive news in what’s been a rough summer for the Ducks, whose fans hoped that the future Hall of Famer and franchise icon would put off retirement once more. The beloved high-scoring winger has spent each of the last few summers deciding if he willing to put in the work to display the high level of play that he’s shown over 19 NHL seasons. That was the case in 2011-12 as Selanne carried the Ducks through their horrific first three months and eventually finished with 26 goals and 66 points, the latter of which led the team in scoring. He also had 31 goals and 49 assists in 2010-11 and has 211 goals and 244 assists since getting his left knee surgically redone during the 2004-05 lockout. The all-time leading scorer in Ducks history, Selanne could realistically catch Jaromir Jagr, Luc Robitaille, Mario Lemieux, Steve Yzerman and Mark Messier on the career goals list and has an outside shot of being the seventh player in NHL history to score 700 goals. More to come …

Jägermeister
Would have been a tough year to lose Lidstrom and Selanne. Good news.
Fanuck
Good news for Ducks and the league basically. This guy is a physical anomaly being able to play at his level at his age. When's he ever going to slow down?

Aladeen
That's nothing. If Whitney & Jagr can get 4.5 mill, Selanne could have got more.
Drybone
Hey Vancanfan. +1 Thanks for the info. I am loving me some of that Teemu Selanne. I think he is a class act and hope he plays another 5 years if he can !!
TheCammer
Essentially this means I will watch at least one game against the Ducks this year and be frustrated because Selanne buries the winner. He seems to have some great games against the Canucks.

Sharpshooter
Glad to know he'll be around the league for another year. One more chance to see him in person. Great player and a solid person from all anecdotal reports.
goalie13
At least with Selanne around, there is still someone playing in the NHL that's older than me. I think it's just him and Roloson to go.
