Brick Tamland
Just heard this on the internets? I thought they were pushing for Nash? Do they have the cap space? Who would pay that? If he goes there, that team is scary good. Skinner, Staal x 2, Ward...
DeNiro
Called it. They were definitely at the top of my list for teams that would make that offer. I dunno though, does Carolina with Doan have a better chance at a cup, or Vancouver with Doan? You gotta think that's what he's after at this point in his career. It's not like he hasn't made a ton of money over the years.
Tystick
How do you know it was from Carolina? On top of that, this 30+ deal hasn't even been confirmed yet.
CanucksFanMike
Source? If this is true the Canes would be really really really good next year.
Drybone
Wow thats a ton of cash for a guy that age. Any source on this ?
Grape
Thankfully it was Carolina who paid him that. Doan won't go there hopefully.
Attica
Anyone else think this off-season seems eerily familiar? Shades of the insane contract thrown out to Jagr, Yashin, Gomez, Breire? Ridiculous overpayment and inflation, combined with a new CBA agreement? Doan is not worth that, on any team.
Dion Phaneuf
Doan is varely worth 5 million, let alone 7.5 mil. - Carolina will still suck with him
HockeyHobo73
If this is true and Carolina is willing to pay that, I can see NYR and Philly offering something similar (but likely a bit less)... I hope this doesn't mean the Canucks will need to offer north of $6 million per year for at least 3 years...
