Is it possible that Luongo will not get dealt for what we want and get parked in the minors like Redden? I know he's obvioulsy on a 1way contract but not sure if they can some how send him down.

No, because he's still a formidable starting goalie for us. He's still a good deal, bad term.

He can be sent to the minors. One way contract just means he makes the same salary regardless if he's playing in the AHL or NHL. Putting him on waivers would be silly though, if he's going to stay we might as well use him and split the games with Schneider. He's still a great goaltender.

Edit: Also if we put him on waivers he'd probably get poached by another team and we'd lose him for nothing... so yeah, bad idea.

putting him in the minors would be retarded, if he is not dealt we'll have Luongo and Schneider splitting the goaltending duties next year

If we send him down he will never reach the minors.

One of the teams we are negotiating with will claim him.

Then Gillis will look like an idiot and it would probably destroy his rep as one of the better GM's in the league.

Seriously ??? There needs to be a training session for people under 50 posts....who are not allowed to make threads. There's 10 million threads on Luongo....why the hell would we need another one?

That's like me saying...asking you are we there yet a million times...THINK for the love of God.

The key difference is that Sopel can fill in for Seabrook and Campbell just fine. Bieksa, he is garbage so in that sense he is like the worst defenseman in the league.

When Cody (Hodgson) gets older, he might be better than Datsyuk.

Let's not push this guy (Kassian). He's still immature, and if he fails on the 2nd line it's because he isn't ready. Some guys really need years to develop, it's how well and how fast players adapt to the game. In my opinion, I'd rather have Horvat getting 2nd line minutes. He will start off on the 3rd line next season but I see him making the transition, being a great compliment to whoever plays his wings.

At this point, I don't see Kassian fitting in to any role other than a 3rd. If players like Kassian start getting 2nd line minutes then we just stay inconsistent as a team.

The idiocy on CDC....

Yes, unicorns could be genetically possible...so could flying pigs... The summer is not even half over. I don't particularly want the Canucks to just give Luongo away. Pretty sure, the right deal will come along. I just want to see TO kept in the basement though.

If I'm lucky, I'll come back and haunt the damned team if they don't win a Stanley Cup before I kick off.

I thought he had a NMC in his contract as well, meaning he couldn't be sent down and placed on waivers. I could be wrong.

Somebody is going to take him I think. If it comes down to it, we'll have to dress a $5.3 mil backup next year until Gillis can get the job done.
