[Report] Mike Green declines Washington Capitals’ qualifying offer

interesting... lets say one player earns 5,000,000 over the year and 365 days are in a year.... 5,000,000/365 = 13698.63

even doubling the salary to 10 million works out to 27397.26.

the life expectancy in Canada is close to 80.8 years, and for argument sake you "work" from age 20 to 50 (low balling here)

That would mean that you're saying they would earn only 913.24/year

the basic needs poverty line for a household size of 1 person is $10,520 per year

which means that in actuality with any social programs or even bottle collection they should be able to earn more than 913$/year

so in a round about way.....

your post is invalid.

Green is still a fantastic player, but has been set back with injuries.

Last year I saw a stat about the Cap's goals for and against with Green in the line-up vs. when he was out. He made an enormous difference, both offensively and defensively.

I don't see the Caps letting him go. They'll work something out long-term.

Too bad, Holtby had a miraculous run, otherwise Washington would have been another possibility for Lou.

Green, could be a good pair with Edler, since he's a right shot. Similar to the Edler-Ehrhoff pair. Also Green and Garrison on the PP, would be great.
