Based on what? His grand total of 95 points over a six year NHL career?

UBC?
After a few days here, I am surprised half of you got the anti-bot question correct to register for this site.

Followed up by a 9 pt campaign For the Oilers!!!!! .. and then a demotion to Ok City....
Orland Kurtenbach and Dennis Kearns had just been torched 8-1 by the Habs, but they still took time to come out to meet us, some fellow BC boys who were playing hockey in Montreal. THAT"S what being a Canuck is!

Don't get me wrong, I'd be okay with picking up GB as a project, but expecting 40 pts from him is wishful thinking, IMO...

The comments about how Bolland, Buf, Marchand would be unwelcomed is why we are fans (and lunatics). As I much as I have a healthy dislike for Bolland and Marchand in particular (I also have disdain for punks like Kane, the cabbie beater), I think they are both effective hockey players who could help the Canucks.

With all the bad history that exists, would Bolland be unwelcomed in the dressing room and would it affect team chemistry in an adverse way? I really doubt it. These are professional athletes, and though Bolland showed little professionalism with retarded comments that he made on air about the Sedins, these are things that can easily be forgotten if the team wins. From what I remember, Bolland publicly apologized, so he's made efforts to amend his idiocy.

Maybe those of us who think acquiring Bolland is not a bad idea don't have the heart of a Canuck because our emotions do not prevail over what we believe would be rational hockey moves to improve the club. But I sure am glad that MG is at the helm and that the lunatics are not running the asylum.

or maybe it's because in junior hockey being 5'10" and 180 lbs doesn't really matter.

Burr Kes, Lappy, thats not dissrespect, thats passion, sometimes yeah its a little uncalled for and maybe even border-line obnoxious but thats how they play the game, with heart and like they actually give a crap, the Canucks are also very active in the community, and they don't talk crap about other players on the radio and make childish jokes, thats the heart of a canuck, its a real person who plays for his team and lives a positive life a real hockey player, and you think this mocho immature douche Bolland can be that? MG and the organization expect more from there players... on and off the ice..

Biting? Hair pulling? Embellishment? Spearing? Is that the "Heart Of A Canuck"? That's "passion"? OK...

I'm not privy to Bolland's community work, but, He has a charity golf tourney for youth programs in TO and Chitown called The Remix Project and he is looking to start a foundation in his name in Chicago. Use the Internet.

I would take Bolland in a second as part of a package for Lu.

Sure I believe in comeback seasons, but I don't bank on them.

And junior totals don't outweigh what a guy has done in six NHL seasons.

He was playing against kids, not NHL'ers. Brule has to have a good season before he can have a "comeback" season.

He threw a hit in junior that would be suspendable in today's NHL?

Bolland is an upgrade over both of them.

Tallhouse thinks Ebbett is "almost there"? He should be. He is almost 30. Ebbett is an undersized, non-physical, minor league depth player who can fill in temporarily, if necessary. Brule is similar with a little more physicality to his game.

:towel: :canucks:

I agree, but if you are looking for a small centre that provides skill in a depth role why would we go out and get Brule when Ebbett is more than enough. That is what I was saying, I think my post was misunderstood.

Bolland fills that void at the 3rd line centre shutdown role perfectly, Ebbett and Brule are not answers for that void in our line-up. Lapierre fits better on the 4th line at centre as he isn't skilled enough for 3rd line minutes IMO.

I also am interested to see how Malhotra responds to a full off-season of training. I could see him earning his 3rd line centre role back. Before his eye injury he was an awesome guy in that position.

Enough about Brule. We get it, you think he'd be a good, inexpensive project. Fair enough.

The thread concerns David Bolland.
