Chimon
The Dallas Stars are tremendously disappointed after losing out on free agent Jiri Hudler to their divisional rivals, the Los Angeles Kings, after long and heavy negotiations the past few weeks. The Stars were rumored to have offered a much more lucrative contract to the prized Czech winger, with initial reports estimating the multi-year deal to be worth nearly $20M. "Everyone in the organization is disappointed for sure, from management down to the players themselves. We were all looking forward to working with Jiri and taking this club to new heights," Dallas GM Chimon spoke to the media after being informed of Hudler's plans late last night. "I guess the Red Wings and Ken Holland trained Jiri well and instilled in him the importance of taking less to play for a competitive team. A few other free agents had also turned down offers to come to Dallas saying we weren't a contending team, and we'll take that as a challenge going forward. We are on a mission to prove the doubters wrong this season."
