D.Doughty
The Ottawa Senators signed forward Jim O'Brien and defencemanEric Gryba to two-year contracts on Wednesday. O'Brien, 23, skated in 28 games for the Senators last season and had three goals and three assists after being recalled from the AHL Binghamton Senators on Feb. 3. He also appeared in seven playoff games for the Senators and registered one assist. O'Brien, a resident of Maplewood, Minnesota, was the Senators' first-round pick (29th overall) in the 2007 Draft. Gryba, 24, spent all of last season with Binghamton, where he had five goals and 15 assists in 73 games. The 6'4", 222-pound Saskatoon native was recalled to Ottawa on April 16 during the playoffs but has yet to make his NHL debut. Gryba's deal is a two-way contract. He was drafted in the third round by Ottawa in 2006.
