canucklax
Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger Its going to be fascinating to see financial terms of Weber's offer sheet. Hearing in one calendar year, he could make $26 mil. This is why nashville probably can't match, too much $ in one season for the owners
canuck_trevor16
Assuming Nashville doesn't match, both good and bad news comes out of this from a Canucks perspective. Pro - Weber leaves Conference. Con - Philly gets stacked and is a potential roadblock to the Cup, even if we go all the way to the Finals again..
Xbox
No but its Poiles job to make an educated guess if he has a chance to retain his UFA's or RFA's. If he can't then he should trade them and get a boat load back for them before they bolt as free agents.
ButterBean
Man, I really hope Poile matches. I'd much rather see Weber with Nashville where they'll be weaker without Suter, I really don't care if we have to play him more in the West, Philly looks like a legitmate threat with Weber. Giroux and Weber on the same PP is already a lethal combo.

grandmaster
Yeah, I honestly think I'd let Weber walk for 4 first rounders, on top of their own first rounders. Weber is great, but it does free up a lot of cap room to find a replacement somewhere

greetingsfrombrazil
Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC Last four drafts, original PHI first-round position was 20, 25, 29 and 21. Would you trade those for Shea Weber? And those picks are only getting lower with Weber there. Even worse if it's two 1st, a 2nd and 3rd. Nashville must match it. Luongo
What they couldn't wait a year to do this? Preds will match for sure. Holmgren is an idiot or he is helping Poile out.

Tystick
If Nashville matches, there's still a possibility we could trade for him later, but Gillis already said he doesn't like taking on contracts he's not comfortable with. I think Weber is definitely out of the question (don't know if he was ever in it). I think we have a strong enough D core anyway, who needs him. Hamhuis - Bieksa Edler - Garrison Ballard - Tanev

Rey
Weber is so overrated. With the sounds of it, people think he's the second coming of Pronger. He's not even close. He doesn't have his buddy Suter to save his butt anymore. His defensive game isn't as good as it should be, with the amount of praise he gets. DIBdaQUIB
Find a replacement for Weber???? Like who???? Also that team has no draw anymore...who is left to see at the rink? There is going to be some huge ramifications if they don't keep their captain & best player
