By your incredible logic, Scott Gomez is Wayne Gretzky. Also Hansen got a raise and Raymond got demoted salary wise, that says more to me than anything. Hansen brings his top game night in, night out. When you talk about the quality of players, there are intangibles that don't show up on the scoresheet - consistency, work ethic, attitude. Hansen is miles ahead of Raymond in those categories. And Hansen has actually achieved one of the rarest accomplishments known to any NHLer of the last 10 years - he got Matt Cooke to fight. Raymond's gone through injury the past 2 years, breaking his hand early in 2010-2011 and then breaking his back in June 2011, hindering is performance in 11-12. The one year he was completely healthy was when he destroyed Hansen's production. Sure, Hansen rarely gets top 6 minutes, but every time he played on the 1st line he did nothing. Hansen is suited for a 3rd line role and does it extremely well, especially since we have pretty much no expectations for them offensively, while Raymond is the whipping boy because the only people who actually understand what's happening is the management (terrible injury, nobody else to give the 2nd line spot to, CDC thinks he's a piece of garbage because he falls a lot). You could argue that he's almost as valuable to have on your team as a true top 6 - you obviously can't win with two lines. Raymond OTOH is suppose to have a bigger scoring role than Hansen and still he had fewer points. I understand the back injury and Boychuk obviously deserved to have the book thrown at him (blame goes on refs/Shanahan for being lax) but still .. Hodgson sucks Ballard sucks Bieksa sucks Lu sucks Burrows sucks................and these are only the recent players All probably with huge majorities.................why should we pay any attention at all to the majority vote on CDC where Raymond is concerned?
