Electro Rock
Yeah, good luck getting that through the customs. If it was this easy everyone and their grandmothers would order one to be shipped by USPS or Canada post right to their door. Yep, obviously it is super easy and you won't get caught. You could buy a lot of things online, from drugs, to guns and nuclear bombs but it doesn't mean you will actually have it in hand in 14 business days. Sharpshooter
Debriefings originated in the military. This type of debriefing is used to receive information from a pilot or soldier after a mission, and to instruct the individual as to what information can be released to the public and what information is restricted. Another purpose of the military debriefing is to assess the individual and return him or her to regular duties as soon as possible. Dunno, just give up. Special Ed
Psychologically speaking. I feel the second shooter theory is a no-go. This was the act of someone who wanted to gain notoriety, fame and infamy. Hence calling himself 'the joker'. The joker functions as a chaotic entity and works alone. I'm sure this guy wants all the attention himself and mentioning a second shooter would frustrate him. I'm guessing this killer had previously blocked the exit door open to re-enter from outside. Then got ready and came back. If he truely thought of himself as the joker, then he could have thought that the act wouldn't be his fault. If nobody or nothing stopped him from carrying this out. He was merely an agent of chaos. That's how he perhaps wanted to be portrayed and why he called himself 'joker'. That's my take on it for now, if I'm throwing a horseshoe. I would like to know what he was thinking or how he felt when he was reaching the final threshold. Entering the theater. I would almost say he wanted someone to stop him partially, or to come back and find someone had shut the exit door on him. Regardless this is something that must be addressed through the media. Blackouts need to be done on these cases to protect the public. No doubt there could be some other lonely souls out there secretly idolizing what this person did. All attention should be on the victims, none on the killer.

Zamboni_14
Wasn't aware that the theatre was full of military personnel. I've been watching a lot of coverage and, IMO, all the interviews have been pretty candid.

RUPERTKBD
They should just ban all the guns, doesn't matter if its an assault rifle or a Glock. If you want to protect yourself, go to a karate class or use your damn fists. At least there would be 1 killing instead of 15-20 mass killings that seems to happen in US every year. From Columbine, to Virginia to this, and it probably will never stop unless they ban guns. Why would citizens need a gun? Gun should just be used by the police, military and secret agents. Just ban all guns and monitor gun importation heavily. Make it so that if a citizen has a gun, they would be locked up in prison for 5 years. We don't need guns and if people want to protect themselves, they should call the police or 911.
Sharpshooter
Article Photos: Was the Batman movie shooting imitated from scene in 1986 comic? The horrific shooting at the screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Colorado late last night bears eerie similarities to a scene in the 1986 comic Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. In the comic, a crazed, gun-toting loner walks into a movie theater and begins shooting it up, killing three in the process. The passage concludes with the media blaming Batman for inspiring the shooting, though he is not involved in the incident at all. The 1986 comic, written and drawn by Frank Miller, was a key inspiration for the Chris Nolan Batman films. It helped to reimagine the character away from his Saturday morning cartoon image and into a dark, grim avenger. The point of this particular scene in the comic was to show just how far Gotham has fallen since Batman had retired. Was the shooter imitating this scene from the comic? Maybe, although in the scene the shooter is portrayed as inspired by his disgust at pornography and heavy metal music. The police’s investigation will surely reveal more in the near future. http://washingtonexa...article/2502701
Mr.DirtyDangles
Who takes a 4 yr old to a midnight screening ? Parenthood should be an earned privilege not a right. All those calling for a ban on guns get real. If even only one qualified person legally had a gun on them in the theater this puke would have been dropped before he killed 11. I dont want the wild west but I sure as hell want an equal chance to defend myself and my fellow citizens against lunatics like this.
