WTF?!

Really, eh? I did the ole WT* myself when I saw this.....has Tom finally flipped his lid for good? What that has to do with anything (short of trying to hijack the thread into a discussion of skin colour and racism, that is) is completely beyond me. But then, I considered the source and it all made sense.

I've read the entire thread and a lot of your comments are just general stereotypes of the "types" of guys go to strip club. Then you get choked whenever someone makes a general comment about strippers. You're as big a hypocrite as the hypothetical guys from your posts.

As for the recruiting, I have a daughter and I don't like it one bit. Is that enough reason to make something illegal? No. It sucks but it's not against the law.

I've never been to a strip club but I'm sure there are plenty of girls who go to school and have kids and are single mothers who don't resort to stripping. I know because my mother did it and she could barely speak English at the time.

You clearly missed the point then. And don't recognize sarcasm when it's being used. And please, don't try and tell me it wasn't clear enough because plenty of people got it. You also seemed to have missed the post where I owned my judgmental comment. So....quite clearly, you did not read the entire thread.

Stripping isnt the sex trade.

Sex trade is exchanging sex for money.

Stripping is the same as modelling. Its modelling with less clothes on than Victoria secret.

Im glad you wouldnt love your kid any less but I would wait until you are in the situation first. The hypothetical is far different than the reality.

My daughter is 18 and I would strongly discourage her from it. But at 21 I would not judge her in the slightest.

ok, stripping is the same as modeling, just like porn is the same as acting.

That spin doesnt work. Porn they are engaging in the sex act. Stripping does not.

Stripping is modelling with clothes until there is no clothes. Thats it.

Can you concede the point or do you have new spin to add?

modelling doesn't usually involve playing with yourself, dryhumping a pole, rubbing tits/arse in people's faces, or grinding on a strangers lap, but sure, they're the same thing.

and not all porn involves sex; IE softcore, nudie mags, and everything outside of hardcore porn .

This is reaching.

You have not proved your original point. Stripping is not part of the sex trade. Prove it is or concede the point.

It is part of the sex trade today - it wasn't 30 years ago.

Again with the passive/aggressive personal attacks, eh, Drybone. Working on a daily record? You talk about the ignore button, claim you have used it on my posts yet you have responded to my posts today. You are such a hypocrite.

The sex industry consists of businesses which either directly or indirectly provide sex-related products and services or adult entertainment. The sex industry includes adult sex-related products and services such as prostitution, call girls, adult movie theaters, pornography, sex shops, strip clubs, sex-oriented men's magazines, and sex movies and sex channels for television. BDSM is also a large part of the sex industry.

I hate using wikipedia in an arguement, but I can't be bothered enough to find an alternate source.

Ok. I concede your point. Well done.

I wouldn't judge anyone who was 21 and did it however. I

I would argue its none of our business how many partners people have or had or whatever, but again its a judgment call.

Whatever happened to the "live and let live" principle anyways?

Either you are for personal liberties and freedom, or you are not.

Has anyone in this thread yet mentioned that this kind of thing (recruiting high school girls for stripping & sex trade) has been going on for about a hundred years now? I don't want to read through the whole stupid thing.

Annnnnnd, you've just illustrated my point brilliantly, thank you ever so much for participating.

How so? I don't think they should be recruiting people of any age for strip clubs to be honest. I would not only dislike my daughter working there, but any woman I was friends with or knew. Like I said I don't like the idea of them at all. I was replying to a comment about how men treat them, which is often disgustingly which I personally have no respect for. But, guys don't go to strip clubs to respect women, all I am saying is that men are not ALL of this problem in this context. Maybe my last post didn't explain it that well? I don't really know what you would take issue with.

No videos in sig please.

In 9 years on CDC, I've never needed it, but there's a first time for everything, right?
As far as the original discussion goes, the whole recruiting at high school thing sucks and I don't like it one bit, but if it's not illegal, there's not much discussion to be had. I'm assuming the schools filter who they allow at these job fairs anyway.

But it's not the job fairs. The promoters would be standing outside the high schools' doors in a public place, where the school district (theoretically) has no control over.

50? yeah, i'd be extremely embarrassed for him/her.
I couldn't care less if he or she was gay.
Entering a sex trade is not exactly the same thing though. you cross a line when you start taking money.

that being said, It's not like I'd disown them or love them any less.

What line is being crossed for stripping? I'd love to read this.

I'm also laughing at how many judgemental people there are to where they'd be disappointed in their children or siblings/immediate family.

The only way I'd be disappointed in any of my children stripping is if it's something they didn't wanted to do yet were stripping anyways. We'd have a discussion as to why, but if they wanted to do this, I don't see the problem whatsoever as long as they're doing it in a safe manner.

One of my sisters does stripping. She's also a makeup artist for a few film studios. She makes great money and enjoys what she does. I'm hard-pressed to find a problem with this (particularly her stripping) any more than if it were any of my children. I've basically told the few family members who were up in arms about this that they need to stop being pious, sanctimonious babies, that's what some posters here are being as well.
