Pickup truck carrying at least 22 people crashes in Texas. Ten are killed:

GOLIAD, Texas (AP) — Authorities say a pickup truck has crashed in South Texas, killing 10 people in the vehicle and injuring 12.

Louann Presas, a spokeswoman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, says the crash occurred about 7 p.m. CDT Sunday near Berclair when the truck ran off the highway and crashed into some trees. The unincorporated community is about 100 miles southeast of San Antonio.

Presas says all the victims were in the same Ford F-250 pickup.

She says the extent of the injuries to the surviving victims wasn't immediately clear. Crash investigators were still at the scene around 11 p.m. CDT.

A Goliad County sheriff's dispatcher deferred comment to a department spokesperson, who did not immediately return a message left by The Associated Press.

Article says there were children? What the hell is this? Feel bad for the kids, not so much for the "adults" who decided this was a good idea. Silver lining is that it was not a collision with another vehicle. Idiots.

It is a fairly safe bet that almost all of the occupants in the vehicle are Mexicans attempting to flee their own country. Texas borders Mexico. They also have a habit of fitting in as many people as possible in one car. This is the unfortunate consequence of that.

So will there be as much coverage as the Dark Knight in the media for this disaster? CNN is virtually running 24 hr coverage of the Dark Knight shootings. The media is saturated with that story.

Or will this be buried in the back pages by tomorrow?

Do you think President Obama will attend the scene of the accident? (Nah).
