Tystick
Except that's not the correct package. He's saying that Columbus had this offer on the table less than two weeks ago and then accepted an inferior offer today. That makes no sense. This guy is good at guessing some of these deals and he always blows his own horn when he gets something right. It's easy to forget the predictions he gets wrong. Notice how he never breaks a trade when it happens? That's how you know he's full of it. If he did have sources he would break a trade once in a while. UFCanuck
No, not even then, you don't, not when you have other options.
rkoshack
Please don't compare the rangers offer to what Canucks could've offered. MG stated he was in on Nash early but the asking price was so high it would've destroyed our team. Also those in the Columbus media are saying the asking price to trade him to a western team was much higher than it was for an eastern team
Tangelos
fair trade. Nash is a 60 point guy, so you can't really expect that much for him.
JustJokinen!
How does that no make sense? Del Zotto had 40 points last season, but they took an unproven rookie defensemen instead. I'd say that's taking an inferior offer. He doesn't break trades when they happen because he breaks them way in advance and waits for them to happen. Sharpshooter
Yes even then you do trade with your rival. When you're talking about what's best for your organization, always take the best package. There's too many variables and too many scenario's that you can't just simply turn down a better offer from a rival. Like if we offered Booth, 1st, Jensen, and Tanev for Jordan Staal. and Philly offered Brayden Schenn and Scott Hartnell. No way Pitt take our offer, they will trade with Phi. SOB for MVP
I was hoping the Jackets would squeeze a bit more out of the Rangers. The Jackets definitely got some good assets, but I am not sure if they got full value (even out of the situation).

Edlerberry
I think Howson must have known he was getting fired soon so he tried to stick it to Columbus one last time.

Baercheese
How is it best to trade a superstar to your rival when they already have two of the best forwards in the game?? How is that supposed to help you?? A trade to DET would be like VAN trading Luongo to EDM. That would just be stupid. Look, in your world, it might make sense...in the real hockey world almost no one makes that kind of deal within their own division. Name me one team since the lockout that has dealt a major star within it's own specific division....and then when you can't do that....think about why. Anyways, just stop, the more you defend Nash to Detroit from CLB's point of view, the more you make it clear that you don't know what you're talking about. Tystick
Exactly, why would they take an inferior offer to one they had two weeks ago? Howson has been waiting this whole time to get the best deal, what's changed in the last two weeks to make NYR decrease their offer? Why would Howson cave now? That's what makes no sense. This guy also provides no new information. These are players that have been rumoured to be offered for months and months. He re-packages reports from other people and passes them off as his own. Did you see his tweets about the "comprising pictures" he had of Dreger? Then he tweeted this photo: https://twitter.com/...er.com/zi9gAyti Which is clearly a photo of his avatar taped to a monitor. C'mon man. Don't fall for this clown's crap.
