Look what happened last time Kesler rushed back into the line up...

Don't take anything I say seriously! EVER!

Take time off!
Let Schroeder have some time to either sink or swim playing for the big club; we don't need Kesler to be 80% for the playoffs again.

Well if the season starts late I don't see why not.

I hope they learned their lesson from last season though. Give him time to be 100% and build his strenght back up.

We don't need Kesler at 75% again.

You beat me to it. I was just going to write that OMG, I just hope he doesn't come back earlier and then can't do anything for most of the season because he is "still injured".

No, Kesler should just take October off.

We don't play great in October anyways and we don't need him in the beginning of the season as much, as we would need him after December.

Please Kesler take your time and come back at 100% or at least 95%

95% is not good enough. He needs to be at least 125% and then that likely would mean he's 100%. He has to rest, rest, rest and not be a basket case in pain when we most need him. What good was he last year? Not good at all because he was playing the entire time in pain.

Please, we don't want him to get injured again or something bad happens. Let him return when he's 100%!

Just sit his ass out another month. It's not like we need him back immediately. If he has another joke of a season, I won't be impressed.

One of his strengths two years ago was his wicked wrister. He'll be going through another summer of not practicing his shot.

I sure hope he isn't "ready" for the start of the season, because it will mean he very likely rushed to return.

I'd rather he took an extra month to make sure he's healing fine.

It was missing a full summer of training last year that did him in. This wouldn't solve that problem. Neither would sitting him for an extra couple of months. Any way you look at it, he's going to be a step behind everybody else in the league when his season starts. Some players can get back to top form really quickly after an injury (think Sami Salo), but Kes didnt really respond well to this situation last time.

As long as Kesler doesn't push himself to the point to injury again. Bring him back at a slow pace, give him less minutes to start the seasons, and less time in front of the net on the PP (use Kass, Booth, or who ever) and let him get back in to the swing of things before we put the game in mr Kesler's hands

Funny, 'cause I'd say the same about Edler and the Sedins.

Sedins are point per game players during the playoffs. youre dumb

Please no. Let him FULLY recover. I want him 100% for 65 games and playoffs. Not 75% for the whole season.
What is the deal with Mike Gillis, it always seems like he's sweating...

I don't care if he actually is 115% ready for the season opener, I don't want him playing for the first 10 games

The actual injury suffered by Kesler (a torn labrum) and actual estimated recovery time after surgery is between 4 to 6 weeks in length for the labrum to reattach itself and an estimated equal amount of time for the labrum to get strong. The Vancouver Sun reported Kesler would likely be out up to 6 months which is an extreme overestimation in my opinion,

I see the following scenario for Kesler.
1. Sugery done on May 8
2. Better than normal healing so 4-5 weeks
3. A normal amount of time to allow it to get strong so 6 weeks
4. Any other strengthening etc for said injury probably a couple more weeks.
5. However negatively he has been affected fitnesswise he would need at least a month for that

So, worst scenario for a return is around 18 weeks (October 9) or a bit more than 4 months. Here is a link that provides some info so take it easy guys, he will be back sooner than lots expected and not because he pushed it.

I'd much rather Kesler rest and come back in beast mode rather than come back not fully recovered only to have more injuries and less points.

Wow, this was exactly the same discussion that happened last year at this time and what happened. AV let him make the call and he came back way to early. It looks like they are travelling down the exact same path. :(

I assume he will take at least 1-2 weeks off. That would still be ahead of schedule.
