Looks like a scene out of Inception, except with a drunk guy.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

I thought it was suppose to be a video of Scott Howson and not Patrick Kane.

On a side note im not sure if this has been mentioned before but if he wore a pair of black sunglasses dont you think Howson looks like agent Smith?

I hate to break the news to you guys, but that's all you can get back for high cap-hit superstars who don't want to play for your team anymore.

Luongo is going to pull in less than this. When it happens most posters will think its awesome value because they can't see the truth (e.g. Kassian trade, Sundin signing (only when he was on the Canucks of course), Ballard deal, Park, Chouinard, etc.) but its the sad reality.

I still would do Luongo for Lupul (if the deal was with Toronto) or for Versteeg and a draft pick (if the deal was with Florida, straight up. The draft pick the Canucks get in the deal is a wildcard, but otherwise there is no way they get better value that that.

Best thing I've seen in a while. Probably an accurate depiction, too, from the looks of that deal...

It took the clerk 3 full minutes to realize there was a drunk in the store knocking over merchandise?

It's going to take a long time for Howson's reputation to rise. Just like how that guy took so long to get back on his feet.

I think Howsen is quietly assembling a heck of a team. For the next couple years they are going to be a by committee offense and they will have growing pains defensively, but look at the top 6 core Howsen currently has:

Umberger = 40-50 points, big body plays hard, 30 years old
Brassard = 40-50 points, decent size, poised for a break out, 24 years old
Dubinsky = 40-50 points, good size, should have a bounce back season, could break out, 26 years old
Johansen = 30-40 points, good size, could explode; has the talent, 19 years old
Foligno = 40-50 points, good size, point production trending up, 24 years old
Anisimov = 30-40 points, good size, could benefit from change of scenery, 24 years old

The average age of that core is 24.5 years, give them 2-3 years together and factor in that they have 3 1st round picks in this coming draft which is slated to be fairly deep, their cupboards look to be fairly good and not needing to rush guys in as their core looks pretty solid.

Let's look at their defensive core:

Johnson = 30-40 points, hasn't even come close to hitting his prime, big size, 25 years old
Tyutin = 25-30 points, should be hitting his stride, good size, 28 years old
Wisniewski = 30-40 points, good size, has had some bad luck, 28 years old
Nikitin = 30 points, good size, 26 years old
Aucoin = Well, he's not signed for point production, a little long in the tooth, should provide good veteran leadership for a young team
Erixon = Time will tell, but a very capable defensive prospect, could be a future T4 guy

Add to the fact they just drafted Ryan Murray that defensive core looks to be all in their late 20's to early 30's right around the time the top 6 core matures as a group.

If Mason can regain his confidence and returns to a 30 win goaltender, and Bobrovsky can shake his demons, they could have a very competitive tandem, maybe hit 40 wins and push for a playoff spot if not next year certainly by the year after.

Columbus could be a dark horse team next year to make the playoffs, but there are a lot of if's, question marks and concerns if everyone can put their game together; but the potential is certainly there and I wouldn't take them lightly. They have a lot of talent just waiting to bust out.

When your leading point scorer is only going to get around 50 points you know you're in trouble.

I worked in a bar for a few months many years ago and walked out drunks at the end of the night often (not a bouncer). Those guys who were always on the verge of falling over backwards just like the guy in the vid were the worst. They couldnt stay standing up and unless you held em up would take 20 steps falling back for every one forward. Theyd be on the pavement the minute you let go of them outside.
