a little of this, some of that

1. As is the general consensus here, I disagree. The Kings look pretty stacked on paper but underachieved all season (until Sutter came and they acquired Carter). A good team lost to another good team -- there's no need to rationalize or blame the loss on a lack of heart.

2. It could very well be that Schneider has better rebound control, or that he's young and a little bit faster. When a goaltender makes a save due to being in the right position, the save looks easy. A lot of spectacular saves are a result of the goalie being out of position. It just so happens that making a lot of easy saves and fewer spectacular ones makes the defence look good.

3. You're not helping.

4. AV is rigid in one respect: he gives ice time to those who are defensively responsible. Nuel Brown (sp?) is the one responsible for the PP and its failures, other specialists are responsible for their respective facets of the game. AV is responsible for Shirokov, Hodgson and some others not working out, but he is also responsible for Burrows, Kesler and Raymond (yes he is a success) becoming valuable two-way players.

5. The Canucks lack chemistry except for with their main scorers? Sounds legit. I guess by that logic the Pens lack scoring except with Malkin and Crosby.

6. MG wants something from the Luongo trade, whether it's cap relief, a solid roster player, a prospect that's expected to make it in the NHL or a decent draft pick. He's more inclined to give Luongo for free instead of trading for an overpaid plug, as that will at least give him cap space to sign/acquire someone else.

7. Right, we should sign Weber, Suter and Parise like us fans told him to.
