bank robberies are so common. atleast a few everyday in metro vancouver. i work at a bank. they're not what tv and media makes it seem. a robber walks up to the teller line, passes a note saying he wants as little as 1500, and the tellers are supposed to pass the money. they dont press a button or anything, they just pass the money, simple. they're no big deal.

Then this probably wasn't robbery.

If you like looking at statistics to determine who's better, you're just a casual fan.

2.41 season GAA isn't very impressive. Let's not get into playoffs and his SV%.

Cory Schneider is the next Patrick Roy.

Was walking along Vancouver convention centre area when I heard all the sirens then I saw two cops speed on the opposing stanley park side, racing through and then slowing down to check every driver they pass, seems a manhunt is afoot

Any chance you're talking about a withdrawal?

Do they have guns or weapons, why would you just give money?

If it is about the convicted sex offender that doesn't explain the scattered painted money on the streets and I'm not entirely sure if the cops would set up a road block to check for him in cars going to/from downtown.

No he's right. They are a pretty common occurence, and almost always take the form of a threatening note. Bank tellers are instructed to hand the money over without question, weapon visible or not. Some banks do activate silent alarms, but even then, police purposely steer clear of the bank, just to avoid escalating things any further than they need to be.

The logic behind it is that if you were to resist a bank robbery, you put the public at risk. If the person did indeed have a weapon, he/she may decide to deploy it against someone, or barricade him/herself in the bank full with hostages.

No money is worth human life.

Edit: A common countermeasure against this is just to limit how much money is at each branch. Banks are commonly emptied out (for lack of a better word), and cash on hand is usually kept at a pretty low amount.

Obviously the presence of weapons during these robberies are pretty scarce, but there's no sense taking the chance and calling a robber's bluff just in case...

Probably because the tellers don't know if the robber has a weapon or not and its safer for them to lose a bit of cash than to tell their employees "be absolutely certain you see his weapon before you give him any of our money!"

Pretty sure it had something to do with the Illuminati and the London Olympics.
