Thomas lays out Hank Sedin.

Daniel gets beat in the head repeatedly til the refs roll their eyes, but do nothing to Marchand.

Raymond gets can opened, potentially ending his career-or worse.

Kesler gets rammed so hard and often he suffers multiple career altering injuries-groin,hip and shoulder.

Hank suffering back spasms from being cross checked so often.

Bieksa slashed by Peverly,bruised MCL.

Edler with two broken fingers from being slashed.

Alberts was gone with an undisclosed injury.

What injuries did Boston suffer?

http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2011/06/16/bruins-stayed-mostly-injury-free-during-run-to-the-stanley-cup/

One injury from a split second late hit that puts out Horton and takes out Rome in what is the longest suspension in NHL history.

Gillis better get a clue quick because re-signing Raymond and signing head injured players like Booth is not going to win you a Stanley Cup.

The Canucks were run into the ice and destroyed and GIllis has done nothing to support the Sedins or Kesler.

He is failing his team miserably since the finals and to this day.Get off the tuna boat ,Gillis.

It was the Hedman hit but it would have been cumulative from Steckel and prior to that.

Why would the Penguins sign a seriously concussed player for 12 years and $104 million?

Get this superstar somebody to protect him and open up the ice or he is gonna retire after the next big hit.

Jan. 1, 2011 -- Hit in Winter Classic

Crosby was felled by a blindside hit to the head from then-Capitals center David Steckel just before the end of the second period. He got up gingerly and had a noticeable limp as he walked to the locker room. But he took the Penguins' first shift of the third period.

"He got my head, for sure," Crosby said after the game. "But I can't comment on it. I don't even know. Maybe it was so far behind the play the officials didn't see it."

Jan. 4 -- All-Star voting

Crosby was announced as the top vote-getter for the NHL All-Star Game on Jan. 30.

That same day, the league announced Steckel would not be punished for his hit on Crosby.

Jan. 5 -- Hit by Lightning's Hedman

During in an 8-1 home win over Tampa Bay, Crosby was injured again when he was driven into the boards headfirst by Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman. Crosby finished that game and flew to Montreal with the team that night. When his condition did not improve, he returned to Pittsburgh on Jan. 6 for further tests.

Jan. 7 -- Penguins announce Crosby has concussion

After Crosby missed a game against the Montreal Canadiens, the Penguins announced that Crosby was expected to be sidelined for a week because of a concussion. He was leading the NHL with 32 goals and 66 points in 41 games.

April 29 -- Admits having setback

Crosby acknowledged he recently had a setback and experienced symptoms during his recovery, but said he isn't worried that he won't be ready for the start of next season.

Nov. 21 -- Stellar debut

Crosby scored twice and added two assists in his season debut to lead the Penguins to a 5-0 win against the Islanders.

Dec. 7 -- Sitting out two games

The team announced on its website that Crosby would sit out the next two games as a precaution after taking a big hit in a game against the Bruins. He had 12 points in the eight games he had played in the 2011-12 season.

Dec. 8 -- Just being cautious

Crosby said there was no indication that he suffered another concussion, but he would rather be safe than sorry on returning to games.

Dec. 12 -- Out indefinitely

Two games became an indefinite absence as Crosby said he was dealing with a recurrence of concussion-like symptoms.

Dec. 17 -- Back on injured list

The Penguins put Crosby back on the injured list after he had missed his fifth game.

Dec. 28 -- Symptoms continue

Bylsma told reporters Crosby was still experiencing symptoms nearly a month after his last game, and while he has not resumed skating, he is still doing light workouts.

What the?

I guess Crosby needs a large guy to protect him too. Won't help unless he skates right beside him with his arms outstretched waiting to catch him if he falls down, or get in the way if someone tries to bodycheck him, but hey, he'll be a large guy in some shape or form to help.

What about Pronger if he returns to health, or Hossa, who already has been cleared. They're both pretty big, but I guess they'll have to hire guys the size of Chara and tether them together to help prevent any kind of contact to the head.

*sigh*

I can't wait to finish work so I can get away from the computer and stupid comments like this.

----------------------

Anyways, back to Booth, he's good, we've just hoped he'd be better. In particular, better with Kesler. There's still hope, and I wouldn't trade him away, but he'll have some work to figure out that pairing and see if they can mesh.

Bingo.

And to everyone bringing up Crosby, did you see what put him out? It was a freak accident. I don't believe that Steckel knew what he was doing. It was a bad collision. And with Hedman, again, it was nothing. Crosby just had not yet recovered fully. It was not a cheap shot, not by any means.

And you're absolutely right about the above. Some teams fight back, other teams don't. The Canucks DO NOT. Therefore, teams will take liberties with them. Yes, nobody cheap shots people on Detroit; but we're not Detroit, we're Vancouver, and we're neither well-liked nor respected - deal with it. As much as you all want to believe that the perception is a "media creation", it's not, and at some point you've gotta ask yourself why we're always on the receiving end of the cheap shot.

Seriously, do you think Duncan Keith would've done that to Tyler Seguin? If not, have you thought to ask yourself why?

I can't wait either,Elvis so that makes two of us.

Pronger will never return to the game .He got his and that was his karma for all he had done.

Pittsburgh had better find somebody to open up the ice for Sid and act as a deterrent.

Crosby ,with one more head injury is toast. The goal is prevention, not reaction after the injury.

At that point it is over.

Having players on the ice that will cover your back is what great organisations do.

Many superstars had protection.Idiots think twice about running the star and the star plays with more open ice and confidence.

You obviously don't understand much about head injuries but are glued to a computer all day long so I will explain it to you in language you may understand:

You purchase a new,top of the line Mac notebook. You drop it. It breaks upon hitting the ground and stops working.

After three months you find a technician who guarantees he can fix it.Upon return it is never as good as new.It will never be the same but it still functions at a 80% rate of originality.

After two months ,you drop it again. This time it will not turn back on and the technician says he can get it running but that he will not guarantee anything.

You get it back and half of the functions still work.

You drop it a third time and have to sell it for spare parts.

Cumulative concussions are similar.Booth is in deep trouble, even with a couple years of rest.

Now Daniel Sedin has suffered a concussion.

Get rid of the Mason Raymonds on this team and get players that open ice instead of figure skate.

This game is deadly and many inside the hockey world are still ignorant regarding concussions, never mind forum poster fan boys.

There is a great deterrent for cheap shots, it protected Gretzky, it protected Bossy - it is called having a great big, nasty. MF who will tear the head off the best player on the other team if they go after your star. The Oilers did it, his name was Semenko, then McSorley. The Islanders protected Bossy with Gillies. Larmer and Savard were protected by Bob Probert. The fact that those players would punish the best players on the other teams protected the starts on their own team. No point in chasing a goon on the other team - attack the talent. That has always been hockey's deterrent for any team that understood the way the brutal aspect of the game is played. If Cooke hits Sedin, you hit Crosby - that is the deterrent. Pittsburg still hasn't learned that when Cooke cheap-shots somebody, it's Crosby who pays the price - maybe one day they will clue in.

Booth is at his best when he is cutting towards the net looking to smack in rebounds. He is not going to score any goals with his god awful shot. Seriously he needs to be working on how to shoot a hockey puck and not bears.

Booth is immensely talented.

However ,he has suffered three on ice concussions ,the Richards hit rendering him unconscious.

Booth is one hit away from potential retirement so if there is any common sense in the head office they will find and sign a large player that can open up the ice for him.

It is not Kesler in the form we saw last year.Get another winger with some presence to protect this guy,Gillis.

Come on and clue in.
