Erik Karlsson

AV needs to let him play

Recommended Posts

This is the exact reason why I didn't want AV back next year. Because he doesn't let his young guys play.

Not sure what kassian did to get the crazy respect you all show for him. but if you are willing to bend over that easy for someone that has accomplished nothing in the nhl it will be easy for MG to pull the wool over your eyes for years to come.

I think AC should let Kassian play on the 2nd line with Kes and booth. I mean Kassian is going to be the a heck of a powerforward, one that we so desperately need since bertuzzi. Then later we could have the WCE 2 with Kassian-Gaunce-Jensen.

I don't get why people have to be extremes on either side. Kassian is a promising young prospect who has a really big frame and has the potential to be a strong skilled power forward. Why anyone wouldn't be excited about that...i have no idea. But people shouldn't be getting their hopes up too high neither, he is still very new to the NHL.

Do you mean consistently brilliant like Kesler, Booth, Higgins, Hansen, Raymond....?

Pretty tough competition alright!   :bigblush:

Seriously, I don't know why so many believe the Nucks top 6 is so impossible to break into.  Kesler has been consistently inconsistent and frequently injured; HIggins shows some ability but seems best in the bottom 6/checking role.  Booth shows no chemistry with Kesler and some tenacity but nothing great.  Raymond...Meh.  Why, if Kassian improves his physical conditioning (which he is doing) is it such a stretch for him to make the top 6?  He's big (and still growing), mean, has great hands is young and showing a willingness to work hard to make the team.  Given the opportunity, he could be the top 6 PF everyone agrees the Nucks need.  Right now, none of our top 6 have shown they can effectively fill that role.

Although, if we do sign Doan, and depending what we get back from the Luongo deal (If it happens), he may have to spend most of the year in the minors.

Sedin - Sedin - Doan

Booth - Kesler - Burrows

Higgins - Lapierre - Hansen

Raymond - Malhotra - Weise

Not much room available

Kassian has the potential to be Doan v.2 - I hope AV sees this and uses him effectively.

What you said still doesn't change the fact that you are praising a kid for no good reason at all, he is not the next coming of jesus so please dont treat him as such.

are you kidding this is cdc... hec they had coho spot in the hall of fame before he had even played a game..he was just draft and sent down and it was av fault and never gave him enough time.. bla bla bla...i am surprised there are no "garrison is the next webber" threads as long as av plays him right...

cdc members are so fickle.. they love players for nothing and hate players for nothing...go figure..
