NHL 13 - CDC Sim Connected [PS3 SIM LEAGUE]

Yes, but it took forever. Your 3rd and 4th lines get so easily pinned down in your zone since USA is so stacked. Hard, but fun. You can trick shot it, if you don't mind ruining the fun of things.

Also, from what I understand, there's a HUT tourney win redemption problem with the demo anyway, so you might not get anything by winning it today. Still, crazy fun. Between the new gameplay and GMC, I'm more stoked than I've been for a game in a long time.

GM Connected doesn't allow for custom rosters and the commish can't force trades through on day one, they can only be sent to him for approval. The game starts on day 1 of the regular season, so no pre-season (again, as of mid-July. May change for launch). FA signings and trades don't occur until the GM advances an interval, which will likely be a 2-week interval given that it's a sim league. This means everyone is stuck with their default rosters for the first 2 weeks. Many of the trades can't be made in the first interval because it will put at least one of the teams below the cap, thus the game won't allow it and it'll never even get to Trav. We'll have to wait for those teams to sign free agents first.

Here's where it'll become a nightmare: The below floor teams will need to sign free agents and the free agents go to the highest bidder. Odds are a lot of these teams are going to put bids in on the best players, which means a lot of teams still won't be able to make their trades even after 4 weeks of game time as only a few teams will land the big names left. We'll have to do another 2-week interval before those teams can make trades.

First 2 weeks default roster

Can make trades and bid on FAs in first 2 weeks, but the transactions won't take place until the interval is advanced

sub question, trav implied yesterday that some NHL player movement that isn't reflected by the update might have to be moved by him. If we can use the 'current' rosters, can we not just do like we do in our own league and go into roster management, update the rosters manually, and then use what is listed as the 'current' roster? Then all we have to worry about is moving the draft picks along, and we can do that pretty easily.

Edit: nvm, read that wrong. Although this may still be a possibility, it seems like either we'd get to update the rosters (through the first update, or whatever) or not update at all. Hopefully someone with the Stanley Cup edition can let us know a few days before

Edit 2: Apparently the Stanley Cup edition doesn't give you the option of unlocking 3 days early this year. This has been a very unsuccessful post for me.
