Rangers won't win jack crap in real life or in this league IMO, no direspect but it's the truth.

Really? I think they're the team to beat in the upcoming year. They're good right now and they have a lot of young prospects up and coming. I so would have selected them for the sim league if Galchenyuk over there didn't snatch them up.

I was speaking more of real life.

Carolina Hurricanes are proud to announce that they will build a new NHL arena for the Carolina Hurricanes. Building the arena will take 3 days. We are asking the league to give us names for the arena. We have one name idea. It might be called the "CheckYourUnderstanding arena"

If NYR doesn't re-sign MDZ before the game is out, I'm going to reject all your offers to him. :)
Then I will proceed to have him accept a cheap contract from myself.

I'd still win and he's an RFA so I'll just match it

I don't believe the commissioner has the power to veto contracts; only trades.

I'm not 100% but I think that the Commissioner has to decide where the FA's sign too.

If that's the case I'd obviously not be a douche about it.

Good, cause GM's are just going to be giving players ridiculous money and overpay.

Yep.

My Board of Governers and I will have to do a little research into why players sign where.

The way they told us that FA works is that it's a bidding war over several ticks and the highest bidder wins the player. Commish has no power over who signs where (outside of his own bids, of course).

Pretty much how it works in the real NHL. Except every team on this league can spend to the cap. Hey Trav, you changed usernames?

@Samjam99 reports that the Capitals management has returned from the Washington Coast after doing a major scouting trip of the WHL. They drank a lot of beer, watched no hockey and shopped for too much cheap booze.

Whats going on with the GM from the Leafs, why is there a vote on the first page about him? I don't want to read 12 pages to find out what happened while I was gone all weekend.
