Danthecanucksfan
Yea but EA is still going to give him an outstanding rating in nhl 13. I remember he reached 89 overall in his prime in nhl 12 be a gm and Kovalchuk is on the decline by then. If he gets to 89 in nhl 12, he is sure as hell going to get higher than that in nhl 13. You have to admit though, that trade was really loft sided in the Devil's favour.

Tangelos
I think the deal was fair, a low fourth rounder and Adams means nothing to me. Kunitz was a forward that he wanted and I needed to clear some cap. Neal for Kovalchuk was the main two pieces, the others were sweeteners. mpt
when kovalchuk retires, you could have gotten an extra 4 years with James Neal who will probably cap off at 92 overall. Just my opinion.
Tangelos
But if this were the real NHL, the deal would have been somewhat accurate. You know the values of EA are off. In your instance then Kessel was like 85 and Howden was like a 68. So an 85 for a 68 and a 1st round pick? The dumb CPU trade engine would even reject that. We know why you want this deal to go down, you know you robbed him.
DollarAndADream
To be fair, the Kovalchuk trade was EXTREMELY loft sided in your favor lol. All you should have gotten in return is like James Neal and a 2nd round pick. James Neal is probably a 90 overall with still a b- in offence. Regardless, steal of a deal for you. Just saying. Tangelos
It wasn't extremely lop sided. Kovalchuk is an elite player, with Crosby level talent. Plus he's only at 6.7 MILLION. That's a sick contract for a player of his caliber. Crosby/Malkin have 8.7M. Kovalchuk is a franchise player.
DollarAndADream
why did I say loft sided .... I think if they were the same age it might be closer to a fair trade, but considering Neal is only 25 and probably still has 1 more year with a b- potential, i think you get the better deal. Craig Adams doesn't mean much to me, I'm just taking some of his cap space. 4th Round pick probably won't end up as anything.
GabbyTheAwesome
probably right about the 4th round pick, but don't underestimate them. I drafted a guy called Tyler King in nhl 12 in the 2013 draft in the 5th round and he turned into a 94 overall d-man.
DollarAndADream
Don't forget about the auto-drafts for GM Connected though.
Tangelos
Yep. You have to scout all the players yourselves and the GM Connected will draft based on that.
CanucksCupHopes
My problem is that he has already left and rejoined the league. Who knows if he is serious about staying, or is he just trying to wreck the league and clown around. Thats why there is a commissioner.
mpt
I am not going to clown around here I' am not gonna do what I did last time I to fully rebuild and I didn't want kessel I know I made a trade that was one- sided but I don't think he's a player u build around he was very bad defensively
CanucksCupHopes
I don't blame you for getting rid of Kessel, I would trade him too, you could've gotten so much more, I just want to make sure that you aren't here to clown around.
