EoH
Alright so I'm planning to go to the states in my new BMW 2012 335i sport I recently bought. However, my concern is that with all the highway driving will debris scratch the coating of my car? So I was just wondering if it does scratched, what location of the car will likely be scratch, is there a way to lessen/prevent the scratches, and if so how much are likely the repairs? I'm also wondering does my BMW has some sort of clearcoat I been reading about on cars. Forgot to say I'm going to Portland. Thanks in advance. -SN-
If you don't drive your car because you don't want it scratched, you've missed the point of buying a car.
Squeak
Debris in the USA? I don't know where you plan on driving, but I have never found there to be MORE debris in the states. Also - why not call BMW and ask for a estimate.... seems like a more logical solution, as the majority of people wouldn't know how much time/cost to repair this scratches.....that haven't happened yet.... EDIT: GOING TO PORTLAND... and you are worried about debris?

Losing With Pride
I work for BMW, and I think this is the stupidest thread I have ever seen. Debris? Really? Maybe if you are driving in Afghanistan I would be worried. I love the "2012 BMW 335i Sport" part. If you're honestly worried, just get 3M Stone Guard (Scotch Guard) for your car. kessywessy
Calm down, it's only a 3 series not a Ferrari. Apart from that if you're worried about your car getting scratched you shouldn't drive it at all, might as well just take a bus or bike it. mpt
I wouldn't worry about it, of you don't tailgate you'll very likely be fine. It's going to get chips eventually but just drive non aggressively and you'll be fine.
