Watermelons
Hah. The London media ridiculed Vancouver for not snowing (it isn't like we didn't want snow) and raining instead...but at least our fans showed up in the rain.... Although I am still confused about what is going on....haven't the tickets sold by the onsite vendors been used?? Or what is going on..
goalie13
It happened here is Vancouver as well, but I don't think nearly as bad as it's occuring in London.
ronthecivil
It's not just London it was here as well and you have to wonder what the hell the IOC is thinking. By all means go ahead and reserve seats for media/olympic family (puke)/athletes but if they don't actually show up to use them it's pretty stupid to leave them empty. People getting these (probably free anyways) seats should be made to show up early. Once the event starts there should be last minute ticket sales to fill the venue. Makes you wonder who owns the IOC and where all that money goes!

Grapefruits
thats just brutal mis-management... never see that at our arena for our canucks games... we need to improve our soccer attendance though with the whitecaps...

Squeak
The main worldwide attraction to the summer games is soccer.. it should be pretty obvious to anyone who follows soccer (or anyone from Spain I guess) why both soccer and the games have been disastrous as far as interest. The Euro was 500x more entertaining, there's a reason why. The IOC isn't very bright.
The Architect
they need to change it up a little. Reduce the number of events. There are many sports that IMO should not be on the world stage (olympic-wise) There's just too many of them. Next, they should open the soccer to full teams...no U23 bs. Who wants to watch juniors in soccer..

Red Light Racicot
I think one of the problems is how the Americans dominate too much; You had Phelps lose, but he was upset by another American dude. Like wow. I do enjoy the weightlifting, polevaulting, archery, javelin, and stuff like that.
GLASSJAW
Winters Olympics are much more entertaining. Not just because of hockey.
Sharpshooter
No, they really aren't. With the exception of hockey, the winter olympics are basically unwatchable. Skating is okay, but it's essentially a spoiled white person's version of the track events in the "summer" (or "normal") olympic events, which are infinitely less classist and more global. Brad Marchand
Spoiled white person's version of track and field?? Less global?? There were 82 countries that participated at the recent Winter Olympics, and 30 of them could be considered a full non-white countries, not to mention that South Korea was among top 5 among all countries in the medal count. And many of the powerhouses had visible minorities among the athletes that they sent as representatives. What an absolutely stupid post.
