MoneypuckOverlord
Some Canuck fans are really pathetic. The ones that want it done right now. Because you kids are too damn impatient. It's like those are the same morons, that will probably complain that the trade sucks if its done right away. Mike Gillis knows what he's doing. We are not going to give him away just for the sake of it or for the sake of getting it done quickly. There is no deadline or timeline to get this done. MIke Gillis will ride the season out with him in the line up if he has too. I rather have 9 million bucks in goalies then make a stupid trade. Nuff said. Brian Burke did the same thing with Pavel Bure. (Of course there was no salary cap back then).
Tragoedia
Typical Canuck homer, overrating our players. Neither Raymond nor Schroeder are of much value to us now or going forward. so if they can be moved as part of a package it's nothing but a win-win situation. Avicii
At OP: he's being compared (reasonably) to Ryan Getzlaf with the size and lugging skating style, but I see him more as a Jeff Carter, which could really benefit the team going forward. Dildo Faggins
As great as Bjugstad looks, I dont want a player who isnt gonna play this year as the centerpiece of the deal. We need players who can contribute right now so we can make a deep cup run. The time is now dammit.

Pears
Jensen-Bjugstad-Kassian That's a much scarier line than Schroeder-Hodgson-Grabner Maybe MG knows what he's doing?
King of the ES
Gillis has said his job is give the Canucks a good chance to win the cup on a regular basis. That means you don't mortgage the future to win today. I know all the fans don't care and just want to win the cup, but guess what? It is a business and that business makes money by running deep in to the playoffs for multiple years.
Jai604
http://www.hockeysfu...-2011-12/page/3 Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe ESPN has us last in team rankings. We are in a bind when it comes to blue chip prospects.

Provost
Is Gillis right to hold out for a young bluechip asset like Bjugstad then? Or should he get the best veteran from FLA, or TOR, or CHI, if he can from any of those teams, and only think about the season coming up as our last kick at the can? Personally, I don't mind if his patience translates into a Bjugstad or similarly decent prospect (Howden?)
mephnick
How about the Canucks win ONE Cup first, and worry about prospect depth later?

Alex the Great
Thank you. I've been reading it like Bee-jug-stad, I knew that couldn't be right.
King of the ES
Big centres are what teams are built around... we are thin in that department. If we land Doan it allows us to throw in an extra piece to sweeten the pot and get Bjugstd in return.
King of the ES
This is such a dumb, shortsighted viewpoint that so many fans have. With the parity in the league, if you make the playoffs, you can win. Look at LA and New Jersey this year, neither teams were favoured by anyone to get to the final. RUPERTKBD
We have the worst prospect pool in hockey, at some point you need to plan ahead to expand the window of opportunity to be a competitive franchise. I say it's about time he addresses this!
