nucklehead
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/lennox-dog-put-sleep-belfast-145939624.html The 7-year-old pug-nosed dog, Lennox, was at the center of a two-year legal battle between his owners and the Belfast City Council. The city's dog wardens seized Lennox in 2010, claiming he was a dangerous "pit bull-type dog," according to The Associated Press. Pit bulls are illegal in the United Kingdom. Lennox's owners argued he was not only not dangerous—he was not even a pit bull. In court, Lennox's owner Caroline Barnes said the dog had never bitten anyone, but that she would muzzle him around strangers.

Shift-4
They say he isn't a pit but then don't say what he is? Not a very good defense. Terrible law

Shift-4
Could be an American Staffordshire Terrier, very similar to a pit bull, and would obviously raise similar concerns - unfounded though they may be with laws against pit bulls.

Columbo
Punish the owners, not the dogs. Obviously there are some dogs that are just not right out there, but to punish a pit bull that is less likely to bite than a cocker spaniel just because it can do more damage and has a following among douche dog owners around the world is stupid logic. Armada
That's sickening. To take a family member of 7 years away from a family like that. Just cause the dog has a notorious history thanks to awful owners it doesn't mean we should put down all pit bulls, especially this one who was part of a loving family.. I hope the wrath of the internet steps in like they always do and takes care of this city council. "City Council members said they have received death threats, part of what they called "a sustained campaign of abuse" "We've had dog wardens who had to leave their homes," one Belfast City Council member told the BBC. "We've had petrol poured through letter boxes, we've had people named on the Web."

rluongo01
Pitbulls have such bad reputations. They are protective dogs that want to keep their families safe. It really just depends on how you raise them. I have a pitbull and it has never crossed the line before in any matter. People need to realize pitbulls are not bad dogs, its just the way you raise them. When will people stop blaming the dog, and start blaming the owner?
