-Vintage Canuck-
Great Plan B! But I really hope we get Shane Doan.

elvis15
If we sign Arnott, does that mean Manny's done? I mean, Lappy and Manny are usually on our 4th line as C's.
etsen3
Wouldn't mind him on the 3rd line. Not as good as Doan, but the price for Doan might be too steep anyway.
Biasbieksa
If we dont get Doan, and end up with Arnott. I would not be too upset. Arnott is a large center, to fill Keslers void, and then the 3rd line. Not afraid to go to and through the crease, which we need, in my eyes. Noheart
This coming out a day after the Doan meeting? Either BS or after meeting with Doan Gillis has determined Doan is to expensive and or most likely heading back to PHX
Systemaddict
He's been a minus player...what - twice in the last 15 years or something? His production has dipped - but he's responsible at both ends of the ice and a great playoff performer. I'd be happy with him. I'd even say if we got Doan - Arnott would be a nice addition as well if there isn't a 3rd center out there that's younger and just as good. D-Money
Fun fact: Last year NHL stat makers counted 205 hits from Doan. That's 65% more than Arnott has accumulated in the last four seasons combined (124). 3rd line centre on an AV-coached team?
carlweezer
LOL LOL LOL "yay shiny new toy!!!" hillarous Canuck fans.. Arnott would be horrible on this team. We are a fast skating team. Arnott is slow and will have no energy by the time the playoffs come trying to keep up with Hansen and Higgins. A big Hell No to this. If we dont get Doan im all for trading LU to get top 6. Id rather have Schroeder or Lappy centre the 3rd than Arnott.
djsandwiches
If Kes comes back sooner than anticipated, I don't think Arnott would want to play on the 4th line; Anywhere else, and he could be a solid 3rd line (possibly a 2nd on the bottom feeders that need to get to the cap floor). I can see another team give him more than what he's worth. If he joins the Nucks, it'll be for below UFA market value and because he wants to win a cup. My hunch is that he'll follow the $$$. cripplereh
Brad Ziemer @BradZiemer To be clear, Arnott only gets signed if Doan doesn't. #Canuckslooking to get younger and can't do that with 2 guys north of 35.
TOMapleLaughs
Arnott would take some pressure off of Kesler. He's not fast, no, but if Malhotra looks done, then Arnott is an upgrade until Bjugstad is ready. (Pffft...)
CHIPS
Arnott is huge but doesn't seem to hit much. Either way he would be a decent 3rd/4th line centre at a fair price.
carlweezer
Id rather have Schroder run the 3rd line and our 2nd unit Powerplay..Signing Arnott will stunt his development.
