canucklax
There are a lot of sports in the Olympics which feature many athletes from the same country including team events, why can't it be the same in Hockey? I could see Canada icing two competitive teams.
VICanucksfan5551
Or badminton. Or ice dance. But those are not "large" team sports like volleyball or basketball. You can only have so many participants in an event. Housing members of those large teams is not cheap. By allowing countries to have more than one large team, that means one less country is participating. Also, as a fan, why would one support, say, Canada A over Canada B. At least in ice dance, I could explain why I would prefer one Canadian ice dance team over another.
SukhKular
To me I don't like the sport of beach volleyball. It's just an informal version of a real sport. That like having ice hockey in the winter Olympics and also having 3 on 3 street hockey. One variation is enough.
Mr. Ambien
They could probably have 3 and all place medals.
SukhKular
They could start throwing games in the semis like the badminton girls. lol
canuckster19
I wouldn't mind seeing something like a skills competition at the Olympics, I mean the summer games has people who can throw different objects the farthest, why not see who has the hardest shot, fastest hockey skater... etc.
