Tanev's Attitude

Did you watch the videos where they went and met Tanev?

He specifically talks about how he's trying to gain weight, so he eats every 2 hours. He eats organically because "it gives him more energy", and specifically talks about how its a full lifestyle commitment to get better.

He was told he wasn't flexible, so he took up Yoga to try and increase flexibility (an often neglected fitness metric) as well as make him less susceptible to injuries.

He has nothing but good things to say about Vancouver and his teammates, calling them "first class in how they treat him", but he also loves his home and has a great relationship with his family still.

Yeah, kids got a bad attitude for sure.

Is anyone else bothered by Tanev's seemingly all cavalier attitude?!?

I've been really pumped on this guys on ice composure and his decision making and with the right amount of work and dedication, i can see him becoming a combination of Hamhuis or Salo. In all his interviews though hes just come across like he's just on cruise control. He doesn't sound like he watches his diet when he needs to seriously put on some weight and while we've got prospects like Zack Kassian whos been training like a beast this off season with Nike and Jordan Schroeder who trains with Zach Parise, Tanev seems to be really just flying solo in the off season. One of our vet d man has got to seriously talk to this kid about his commitment and how your work in the off season directly corresponds to your success during the season.

Tanev = Composed kid.

He's not overly skilled. He's not loud. He doesn't, as far as I know, do the rah-rah thing. He's a young player on his way up. He looks like he's going to be a top-4 defender for years to come.

Cavalier attitude? I think not.
