goalie13
we woulda never gotten some players like Schneider and Hansen and kes and burr etc. without the sedins.without the sedins and luu there would be no coho
TACIC
That makes no sense at all. Aside from Burrows, who was signed as a free agent, all of those players were drafted. There is no way to say, that had we not drafted the Sedins and traded for Luongo, that we wouldn't have been in the right position to draft the above mentioned players when the opportunity came. The same basically goes for the overall premise of the thread. If the Canucks didn't have the Sedins and Luongo, there's no way to know whether the players in their place could have been better, or worse. goalie13
all I'm saying is that without them the team drafting would be different, hence creating a different team and different drafting
sirensong
Where would the Rangers be without Richards, Gaborik and Lundqvist? Where would the Pens be without Crosby, Malkin and Letang? Where would Det be without Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Lidstrom? Where would Boston be without Lucic, Chara and Thomas? Where would Sj be without Thornton, Boyle and Marleau? Where would Phi be without Giroux, Briere and Pronger(before this year)? Where would LA be without Quick, Doughty and Kopitar? Same question can be asked about ANY contending team, take 3 star players away from any team and they fall greatly. It's a completely irrelevant question. The real question is where have we got with the Sedin's and Luongo at the helm? 2 Presidents trophys and 1 game away from the cup, close but not there. No matter how good you are, you keep trying to get better no matter what. Thats what pro sports is all about. What have you done for me lately. This is a multi billion dollar buisness predicated on sucess, don't ever forget that.

canacks1970
where do you think the Vancouver Canucks hockey club would be without the sedins and Luongo. It kinda sucks that Luongo fails and CDC flames him like crazy. If we had Crosby and he plays horribly would you complain and want him traded and say he is a waste of space?Cause the Canucks would not be where they are without these guys. Sedins:Drafted 2nd and 3rd in 1999 and started to play like a 2nd and 3rd pick a few years. When that happend the Canucks became a new team. Luongo:Traded a few disgruntled players for Bobby Lou.Since then he has become an anchor in the net but even the best fail.Has been great and wouldn't mind keeping him I bet you most of the league would give their left nut for the sedins and Luongo.we gotta respect them and let them do their jobs. that is my opinon

CrashCanuck
They would be in another City somewhere destined to be unsuccessful as has been the criteria of one Mr Gary Betman probably Tennessee or Louisiana maybe a City in Idaho who knows wherever a team is destined to fail our commish will grant them a franchise. But for certain if it wasn't for the Sedin's and the 3rd greatest goalie statistically we would be doomed.Luo carried our teams through the transition when AV started coaching after crow and stressed defence first, now we litter this board with idiotic comments about why we need to trade him and how quickly can we do it. Regardless of fact he makes only 50 million over 10 years or whatever it is.Suck it up girls he is the best goaltender we'll ever have and everyone will be blaming Cory the same when we fail to win next.It isn't the Goalie who wins the game it's the collective whole as a team including coaches and players. Ray_Cathode
With the 17-5 million in cap freed up, we'd probably have three pretty wonderful players instead of them - maybe guys who could play in the post-season.
