Here's the game: Post Covers You Think Are Better Than The Original!

Navigate your way over to Youtube and dig up some links.
Your post will include:

1) The Original (or most wellknown)
2) The Cover (that, in your mind, is better than the first)

As a reader, listen to both (if you're not already familiar with each), if you agree, reply or +1 it.
If you disagree, suck a lemon or reply.

Clicked the first one without reading and spent the first half of the song trying to figure out when David Bowie decided to make terrible songs. I agree that the cover is better, but I give you no points because it's Cyndi Lauper

Boo. The saxophone was what made the original so special and memorable...any cover without it is severely lacking.

i disagree, obviously, but i feel the guitar does a far superior job, and this is coming from a man who played the saxaphone for a number of years and LOVES the saxaphone in any song it is used.

ugh, so not. plus those no talent hacks are giant coke heads who happened to score one good cover that only did so well because people loved the original so much.

Won 200 bucks in a talent show singing that song...so the original has a bit of sentimental value to me also. I appreciate the cover, and all except the missing saxophone, I'd say it was well done.

Meh, I prefer his voice to Michael Jackson's. I'm not a big Alien Ant Farm fan anyway, I only like that song and maybe 1 or 2 others.

Bob himself said the cover was better than his version...who's going to disagree with that? ;)

Even though I love them both the same, most people would say Jimi's version is better.

Another great version (PS. there is some sax in there for you sax lovers):

Plenty of great musicians have covered All Along the Watchtower.

Let's have some more recent songs on here (sort of)

I feel the cover is much better (also a canadian band), especially the chorus and the different original bridge they added.

If my wikipedia skills are right, there was only three years between the original and cover. It sounds like they heard it on the radio and used it to fill a slot on their album that needed filling. Wasn't better than the original.
