Gollumpus
I like burrows but can't help but think the Sedins boosted his play. He should get the salary of a 'good' second liner IMO.
Honeydews
I sign him for anything. As long as he stays. This guy has been clutch. Deserves a Raise. Good job by MG to get this done right now so he can plan out to resign Edler later.

topbananas
News1130 Sports @News1130Sports Get it done MG. This guy deserves a fair contract this time around. I love the Canucks but....if Burrows goes, my loyalties to the team will as well...
Tanev's Smirk
Really? Wow!!! I love Burrows but if he left the Canucks, oh well, move on. $4m per is too much, $3.5m per, tops
zombieksa
Even $3.5m is too much. $2.5m - $3m should be the limit. He was the one who said he was a third liner and should be paid like one (pretty sure it was in his interview after he signed his first 'big' contract with the team). iinatcc
11 year $41 Million contract for a $3.75 Million cap hit $10 Million on the first year and $5 Million for the next two. Plus a $3.75 Million dollar signing bonus.
firestorm238
I'd go 3.5 x 5 Year or 4.0 x 4. People have to keep in mind that the cap is going to keep going up and so to will the average salary. These numbers will look pretty reasonable at the end of the contract term.
Tanev's Smirk
Key word "was" a third liner. He now plays like a 2nd liner/fringe 1st liner, and great chemistry with the Sedins. If Sedin, Sedin, Kesler, Booth, Bieksa, Hamhuis, Garrison, Ballard, Schneider, and Luongo can all be paid 4+ million, Burrows getting that much shouldn't even be an argument. thad
imo one of the greatest all time canucks already. not skillwise, but one of the greatest men to put on a canucks jersey. -takes way more abuse than anyone from top defenders due to fishing the puck out for the twins for all these years now -comes through in the most clutch moments, and not just a sedin banking the puck off him but taking the game in his own hands -took the biggest discount to help the team sign better players -always the last player off the ice high fiving every guy before he heads down the tunnel -is the absolute definition of hard work. not only was even making the ahl an extremely long shot, but he found a way to compliment 2 of the best players in the world and stick on the top line of a top contender in the nhl -is also one of the best penalty killers in the league i understand the argument that he really should be a second third liner, but he's done so much for this team that he deserves his paycheque this time around. if they let him walk for anything under 4.5 ill be pissed. i dont think he would make them pay that much but if it really comes down to him staying or leaving, id give it to him. your not going to find a free agent for that much that will bring as much as he brings
Profanity
True, but I'm cheap and if I was a GM I'd have trouble spending to the cap floor. (Burrows is currently one of the only Canucks I like so I'd love for him to stay. I just feel beyond $3m isn't wise.)
BabychStache
Just hand him a blank cheque. Worth whatever he writes down.
TOMapleLaughs
Purcell just re-signed for 3yrs, $4.5mil per. If Burrows accepts less than that, then he is indeed taking another paycut.
CanuckRow
I'm more worried about an Edler deal than Burrows. Burr deserves anywhere in between 4-5 mill and will get it. Edler is going to demand at least 5-5.5 which wont look nice on our cap situation. We could be getting in trouble here...
canadiangunner
No way does burrows get more then 3.5 per year. Take the sedins away and you have a 2/3rd liner who can play that grinder/pk/chip in a gold type of player. 4 year 14 million makes a lot of sense. Where's Wellwood
Burrows value is highly related to the Sedins staying. Playing with the Sedins, Burr is easily worth 4 mill. Without the Sedins, I'd say no more than 3. So if he signs 3.5 for 4 years then if the Sedins stay, it's a bargain and if they don't, we haven't overpaid by too much.
