Got to go with Smitty on this. He has to have one of the best blockers in the NHL. Check out his save on Bobby Ryan. Or when he stops "The Pavel Dekesyuk"

That save is overrated. Morrison shoots it at the glove and edler slows morrison down.

Smith just barely edges out Luongo for me. Definitely thought of Schneider on Morrison when I saw this thread though, but he had a lot of time on that play.

that save is overrated all ballard had to do is slide the puck instead he takes the time to shoot it into ward's glove

After watching all of the videos.. Damnit how much i wish we had Patrick Kane on a line with Kesler... Holy crap, Kesler would get like 50 goals with that guy setting him up

For Kiprusoff, I think this save off Sedin was also a pure gem, in terms of its difficulty in reading the play, shifting physical momentum and the timing of the game (the Canucks were on a roll and had just tied the game).



For best save of the year however, I think that honor goes to either Smith's blocker save in the OT penalty shot, or Luongo's pad save on the Pred's. Both are the result of never giving up on the play. Sheer brilliance!

Uhh, how? You have to have amazing reflexes to even come close to making that save. I swear overrated is CDC's favourite word, and they use it on the wrong things/players.
