Damm. I am watching the whitecaps game on TSN and the crowd are singing and chanting for the first half. Every time Joe Cannon kicks the ball the crowd goes "BOOM". The crowd also started singing the Canadian Anthem at one point. They also sang and chanted and mocked the other team player. Canucks fans should learn from whitecaps fans. We should have chants and sing during the game. Make Rogers arena loud. We should take the BOOM part from them. Every time our D is lining up for a shot we should shot BOOM once they shoot. Just saying we should be louder by having chants and stuff.

embrace the hate.

Hockey isn't like soccer, the game is faster and more happens. The fan culture of hockey is different too, it reflects the sport. Soccer fan culture is cool for soccer, but for hockey it doesn't work as well since the action is faster paced and doing organized songs and chants could be distracting. It just isn't as much of a part of the culture for hockey. I do wish Rogers Arena would be louder though. Too many suits, especially in the lower bowl. I don't think singing and chanting is the only way to be an enthusiastic fan.

Hockey's too fast for chants and other soccer things. Different game, different style of cheering.

Where does this whole 'suits' thing come from exactly? My uncle has season tickets. He's a business man. I suppose you could refer to him as a 'suit', but he never wears one to the game. He doesn't cheer a whole lot except when we score. He's vocal (bad officiating, whatever). But every time he invites me along, I only see a few suits there in the season ticket holder section. I think the whole suits thing is an exaggeration.

Number 10 on FC Dallas has been diving all game, and Davidson just offered to help him up and he attacked him! What a prick!

I agree, the simpler ones would definitely be cool.

I like the Boom, especially when it's a clean shot that the crowd can see coming. Why not spice it up a bit, it's not like there is much originality out there in the NHL, unless you count Cartman chanting "Go Kings Go".

It's also cuz most of the fans are immigrants coming from country's that love soccer. They're a lot like Montreal fans, cuz most the fans there are French, being a lot more European minded towards sports. Although I am Canucks fan, I am French and my family is from Montreal and I treat the Canucks like religion. No boasting, I just love my Canucks!!! GO CANUCKS GO!

You don't have to be drunk to be loud.

You just lower down the ticket prices.

That right there is what we mean by suit. Look at the upper bowl, people cheering and screaming and outta their seats for everything. You just PROVED it wasn't exagerated, thank you :).

Oh the sadness of a Bandwagon fan trying to hide behind the guise of a true fan.

So? What's wrong with going to the game and actually watching it and enjoying it as opposed to being some drunk hooligan in the upper bowl? I'm not a suit and I definitely don't cheer that much either. It is exaggerated because if you actually sit in the season ticket section, there really aren't that many suits
