Crosby's goal was great. But Henderson's meant so much more than just a goal. It was our way of life vs. theirs.....and we won!!!

I too watched that game in my high school. Even people that didn't like hockey were riveted to the game. Truly us against them. They had nuclear bombs pointed at us. They were a totalitarian state and we were proud to be free. Hockey was our game and then they were beating us??? There has never been a more intense sporting event ever. Miracle on ice was a distant second.

Henderson was totally amazing. It is a crime that he is not in the hockey hall of fame.

Yet Tretiak who never played an NHL game somehow is? He was on the losing team and Henderson who scored 3 game winning goals  in a row,(which if he hadn't,we would have lost the Series) isnt?

Henderson's goal. I wasn't alive, but to use that as an argument against it is sheer ignorance.

I imagine that at the time, it was like how we felt after Burrows' game 7 winner, only the entire country felt that way.

Hopefully CBC re-airs the series in its entirety in the event of a lockout.
