I'd rather have a regular season champ and a playoff champ.
Caculate the totals from both the regular season and the playoffs to find your season champ.
The season totals would be the IMPORTANT totals.
I wouldn't mind this idea, if it meant that all 30 teams made the playoffs. Except, I would say that the regular season champ doesn't actually matter. Also, the season totals don't really matter. Also, not every team makes the playoffs.. only the top 16. But, instead of a head-to-head, all 16 stay in for every round and whoever has the most points by the end of the playoff wins.
Seems quite clear that the experienced GMs are only focused on the playoffs. What's the fun in winning the regular season if there's basically no competition because nobody cares about the regular season?
