3rd and a few with the game on the line, do you:

A ) Hand off and hope you get some good blocking.

B ) Run a quick-out passing play for the yards required

C ) Throw it 20 yards down-field and out of bounds.

Bwahahaha! That's awesome. I laughed so hard at that play.

Another "did-just-enough-to-eke-out-a-win" performance tonight. Important players, on both sides of the ball, were important when they needed to be.

CDC is hilarious. So many of its members are blind to anything but "bad referees". The biggest excuse for when a Vancouver-based team loses any game. It's always the officiating. Tonight, it wasn't the Lion's inability to move the ball or the kicking game, it was all about the referees. 2011 Cup Finals? The referees. 5 Whitecap's losses in a row? The referees.

We need a new excuse. How about we blame Mayson Raymond? Or Lu?

The Lions weren't up to par but there were a couple of BAD calls as well - one of which cost us bigtime. Plus, generally you at least get a replay?

No excuses - besides, we won despite it all. But there has been some very poor officiating in pro sports and, at this level, it's unacceptable if it impacts games. Nothing wrong with discussing it.

do the lions even have a young up and coming kicker

even with the year paul had last year they should of went with white

This guy: http://www.bclions.com/roster/show/id/4353

Saw him kick in the preseason against Saskatchewan. Looked pretty good, nailed a 44 yarder with ease.

As for McCallum, he has had a couple bad games but he is still pretty dependable when needed. BTW, McCallum is hitting at 77.8% while Whyte is only marginally better at 79.3%. Punting avg. is also within a couple yard of eachother.

Cincinnati receiver Andrew Hawkins became the third former CFL player to score a touchdown this NFL season, when the former Montreal Alouette scored on a 59-yard catch-and-run for the Bengals. Hawkins joins Jerrell Freeman (Indianapolis) and Marcus Thigpen (Miami) as other CFLers who have crossed the goal line during the first three weeks of this NFL season.

Inexcusable play calling again tonight. Last week they got away with it, I don't understand the obessession with going deep all of the time especially when it's not working. You have the ball with over a minute on the 50 and you take three deep shots... What are you thinking. Pathetic. Defense stepped it up in the second. Too bad Jaques still can't seem to make necessary adjustment mid game.
