Manziel banned from the CFL.

Going to either AAF or XFL likely now.

What kind of quality of player will come to Canada when they have so many options in the states coming out now.

Arena League, Indoor Football League, XFL, AAF.

CFL should be worried.

I don't think the CFL has anything to worry about with the AAF.  Only two weeks in and they already needed a bailout.  What was their plan to get through the whole season?  Did they even have a plan?  I think the AAF has already peaked and won't make it past the first season.

Lulay officially announces retirement.  He's one of my favourite all-time Lions' QBs.  It's too bad about all the injuries.  I bet he could keep playing otherwise.

They should sign Lulay to be their punter, dude kicked one over 55 yards in a game, then after the game found out QBs aren't allowed to kick.

The guy would have been in the top 5 Lion QBs if not for bad injuries.

I enjoyed watching a healthy Lulay.

The quick kick has been an option in the league for years. When did this change?

Well, the defense has been very good to start the year, even with some offensive hiccups. I'm still not convinced after the first 3 games, and would like to see us play against Calgary (with Bo in) to truly see where we are. The Bombers are great at finding ways to lose in the playoffs (if we get there), so it's hard to get overly excited :P

hard to believe

that all the secondary teams in this market are turning into tire fires

man the lions look bad despite the win over the argos

whitecaps are a nothing team.. and just got shellacked by a good one (and have managed to alienate so many fans this season as well)

canadians really have trouble scoring runs and wins

i guess we'll all need to get excited

for when lacrosse gets started again

that team looks like it will have potential

Don’t write the Lions off  just yet.

I confess

The CFL just doesn't do it for me anymore

The CFL used to be a great league with great players.  I think it’s really gone seriously downhill since the 80’s.  The difference in pay between the NFL, and CFL has become so big players see the CFL as a way lesser league now.  We lose a lot of guys who used to play here to teaching, fireman, and other jobs in the US that pay a similar wage to the CFL.  The talent level has just dropped so much it makes it really hard to watch the games.  Yes, it’s the second best pro football league, but it’s lightyears behind the number one league now.   CFL and MLS are just terrible leagues for seeing real talent.

I still cheer for the Lions, but they are nowhere near as good as they used to be.  Maybe it’s the quarterbacks.  We used to get the smaller mobile guys, but now those guys are wanted by the NFL.  Russel Wilson would have been a CFL QB years back.  Now we get the bottom of the barrel.

I missed the last 2 Lions games.

Only the 1 vs Calgary was decent.

They deserved a tie at Best in Toronto last week.

Should still be winless.

Awful team.

Bad players and bad scheme.

Montreal owner gives up, and leaves.  League takes over the team.  BC and TO are bleeding money too.  New TSN deal needed.  League doesn’t pay the (much needed) players who aren’t the stars enough to keep them.  Games are full of mistakes, making the fans aware the quality is not professional.

@Chip Kelly how much longer can the league survive?

I was at the Calgary game. Absolute disgrace. No will to win.

Duron Carter needs to be punted. He is a creampuff.

Very good chance that I don't watch another CFL game this year.

XFL will be next to drain the few decent players who are still willing to come up to Canada and play a game where they are paid the same as their off-season jobs.

All in the hopes of getting noticed by an NFL team and sticking on a practice squad for the year.

If the NFL ever partners with an official affiliate league to be their development outfit like NFL Europe was, but in North America and a more direct partnership then yes.

If you are 35 and under and watch football, most likely you are an NFL fan 90 percent of the time over a CFL fan.
