....said one of the newly deluded.

The ironing and seemingly the opiate is indeed delicious, eh?

Not really - unless you're speaking for yourself...

Kind of like cognitive dissonance..in your case you go out of your way to constantly rationalize why it's okay for you to drop a cheap shot against anyone religious whenever you can....

Not really? You've been deluded for a longer period of time then?

I'm sorry if the definitions of words that people use appear as a 'cheap shot'. Delusion is a word that best describes and defines your belief in man-made mythology.

Thanks for the proof.

I prefer "hope" as a word that defines my belief in God.

Religious debates in a nutshell:

Athiest: Ugh, you guys are all stupid for believing in god -insert random ignorant/stereotypical statement-
Theist: Ugh, you guys are all stupid for not believing in god -insert random ignorant/stereotypical statement-

Why look, it's happening right now!

No one is stupid for believing nor not believing in God.

Maybe if you changed that to "stereotypical", well...maybe...

That's actually not an accurate representation for most believers or non-believers, since neither 'all' believers or non-believers are 'stupid', but if it helps you feel superior to both to push that narrative, then atta boy Skippy, you keep on keepin' on.

Religion can certainly be proven by science. Science is still a long way off, to be sure, but consider how young science is compared to religion. It's to be expected that, with so many more years to work with, religion has gotten further in the search for truth in which both methods are engaged. But the tools of science are incredibly powerful and have enriched our understanding of so many things. It's unfortunate that these methods of truth-seeking have so often appeared in opposition, when they are engaged in the same endeavour.

Oh sorry, I didn't realize that calling a group of people "delusional" and mocking their beliefs didn't mean you thought you were better than they were.

Maybe it isn't accurate to all religious discussions, but it is certainly accurate to the ones that take place here.

By showing disrespect for others beliefs? That is exactly what you do when you try to convert anyone, you are essentially saying my belief is better than yours. Do Christians get free Amway stuff every time they bag a Pagan or something?

Perhaps he had a look at the website at your proselytizing website located on your profile page.

Seriously though, thanks for the laugh.

Faith, at it's core, is a decision of the will that we keep on making, but we are given that option by God's grace...

It's a choice we must make without having all the complete information we'd like to have.

Otherwise, what we would have is knowledge, not faith.

Here's an example...

Suppose I reach into my pocket, pull it out with something in it and hold it under my fist...

I say to you, "I'm holding something in my fist - Do you know what it is?"

And you, being logical say " a coin?"

I say, "but you don't know for sure...that's just your opinion..."

Our faith is not just our opinion...

Let me tell you, "I have a quarter in my hand...Do you believe that?"

And you say..."sure...ok"

I'm telling you that it's true, but you haven't seen it.
That's faith.
Hebrews says faith is the evidence of things not seen.

Now, let me shatter your faith, I open my hand and reveal the quarter.

Now it is no longer faith - it is just knowledge......

Some people think that faith is knowing something beyond any doubt whatsoever, and so they try to prove faith by empirical evidence...but that's the wrong approach...

You can see and touch that coin, so you don't need faith....
God, for his own reasons, has not subjected himself to that kind of proof....

Instead, you must use corroborative evidence that point convincingly toward God - and that is important for it leaves room for us to take a step of faith in the same direction that the evidence is pointing....

Did you really write that?!

How can you corroborate something that has no proof for it in the first place??

That was just magnificent...seriously. Thanks so much for that.

Actually, that's a re-post from a book by Lee Strobel.

How does a scientist corroborate something that has no proof for it in the first place?

Oh, and by the way, it's not a "proselytizing web site" - I'm just sharing interesting things I have discovered during my journey.

Thanks again for proving my point though about going "out of your way".

Fair enough and this thread is starting to look no different by the immaturity of certain users above, I don't think I need to name names.

And who are you to say there isn't?

Way to be respectful of others beliefs, every thread related to religion is just you spewing disrespectful immature negativity, I haven't read one post you've made worth posting. Although I don't believe in a god I still respect their beliefs. Maybe you should too.

In no way has Heretic tried to convince us to become Christian in any manor. Way to pull stuff from your rear as always.

Keep it up, I'm the one who always loves a good laugh.
