Ok I was thinking about this today thought it would be fun. Choose your best offensive and defensive lines from any year but the line had to have been together for all or most of the year. I do not know the players from the early era so youll see its not too creative lol.

1st line Bure - Linden - Adams (93/94)
2nd line Higgins - Kesler - Samuelsson (10/11)
3rd line Torres - Malhotra - Hansen (10/11) .... (imo the best 3rd line canucks have ever iced)
4th line Odjick - McIntyre - Hunter (93/94)

I know real original, only lines from 2 years lol, contemplated WCE line but dude BURE, contemplated Rypien's 4th line 06-07 but dude ODJICK, 2nd line speaks for itself - domination. Dont have time to do defense might do it later, but lets hear your lineups!!

Sedin Sedin Burrows is/was a league-leading line. So not bad.

Courtnall Ronning Linden seemed to play well together.

Bure could play with anyone. He hogged the puck, but was so darn amazing.

Oh yeah, the WCE?

Best third line was Courtnall Nedved Momesso.

1992/93 stats:

Courtnall 31g 46a 77 pts

Nedved 38g 33a 71 pts

Momesso 18g 20a 38 pts

87 goals 99 assists from the third line!

Good post and picks OP. I do not believe Samuelsson played with Higgins and Kesler for too long, as he was acquired at the trade deadline and Sammy was injured on May 7 (WCSF Game 5 versus Nashville). Still an excellent line though, as Raymond took his place and potted a couple as well.

The WCE is my all time-fave.

Skriko / Williams - Sundsrom - Tanti might get a nod, too?

Naslund - Morrison - Bertuzzi
Bure - Linden - Adams
Sedin - Sedin - Burrows
Torres - Malhotra - Hansen

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

The Sedins and Burrows from 2 seasons ago was the best line in the NHL and probably combined for more points than any other line in franchise history. Sorry Bure and Linden, but 2 Art Ross winners are just much better.

As for the 2nd line, I'd say Kesler with Demitra and Sundin were much better. That was essentially 3 players scoring at a 60-70 point pace, and a 1st line on just about any other team.

I saw the title of this thread and the first thing that popped into my mind was, "Why would there be a thread about things Shane O'Brien said at Brandi's?"

surprised no one has mentioned defensive pairings yet. Statistically Bieksa and Edler will end up being the top 2 defenseman points-wise so i would keep the first two pairings the same (oh yeah if Canucks manage to sign Edler long term lets cross our fingers)

Hamhuis - Bieksa (current)
Edler - Garrison (current, because I dont think we've seen best of Edler yet and hopefully Garrison brings it out of him)
Ohlund - Salo (one of my all time favorite pairings, hard choice cuz I love Jovo as well)

Where does all this imaginary quality for Sundin come from around here, anyway? The guy had 28 points in 41 games, that is a fifty-six point pace, not 70. Other than that, he was a dog, a complete defensive liability. The guy was so fat and out of shape he could barely get his hockey pants on. Demitra was a lazy slob in his own end too - the only thing that made the line was Kesler. Kesler flourished there because he finally, for the first time in his career, had second line, not third line responsibilities. In addition, Kesler had 10 goals 14 assists playing with Burrows on the checking line that year a 20 goal 28 assist 48 point pace on the third line. Kesler got far more from being in more offensive situations than he ever got from playing with Sundin. Sundin had the good fortune to have an emerging Kesler on his line, Sundin himself was just a great big, fat boat anchor of a player by that time in his career. One does not have to wonder why he went back into retirement - it was just too much trouble to stay in shape, even with a 10 million dollar enticement.

2002-03: Naslund - Morrison - Bertuzzi (best 1st line)
2005-06: D. Sedin - H. Sedin - Carter (best 2nd line)
2010-11: Torres - Malhotra - Hansen (best 3rd line)
1993-94: Odjick - McIntyre - Hunter (best 4th line)

If we're talking best 4 lines in history, then:

2002-03: Naslund - Morrison- Bertuzzi
2009-10: D. Sedin - H. Sedin - Burrows
1993-94 (playoffs): Bure - Linden - Adams
1981-82: Fraser - Gradin - Smyl

Sedin Sedin Burrows (10/11)
Bertuzzi Morrison Naslund (02/03)
Bure Linden Adams (93/94)
Torres Malhotra Hansen (10/11)

Hamhuis Bieksa (10/11)
Edler Erhoff (10/11) (Hopefully after this season Garrison instead)
Ohlund Salo (02/03)

Luongo (06/07)
McLean (93/94)

Coach: Quinn (93/94)
Assistant Coach - Vigneault (10/11)

Yes, I only selected from 3 years, as those were some of our best teams we've had. (2012 had mostly the same team as 2011, but 2011 was a better season).
The reason Bure is on the third line is because if they were to actually play, I could then swap him and Burrows in the game, so it would be Sedin Sedin Bure, and Burrows Linden Adams. Is that cheating? Yes. Do I care? No.
