@News1130Sports: #Vancouver Giants have traded forward Trevor Cheek to the Edmonton Oil Kings.

For a second rounder.

Also traded Coyle for a 6th. That's 8 picks in the first 3 rounds.

Giants seem to be able to score in bunches. The only problem is, when they do that...they allow goals like it's the game plan!

Giants lose to Kelowna 5-0 tonight.

Shots:
VAN: 22
KEL: 25

Goals:
VAN: no score
KEL: Bell (2), McKinlay, Olsen, Johnston

Goalies:
VAN: Payton Lee, 5 GA, 20 SVS
KEL: Jordan Cooke, 0 GA, 22 SVS

Brett Kulak was a terrible -4

The Giants lost both this weekend to Kelowna by a total score of 10-1. Guess they really want that first overall pick. They have a record of 13-40-0-0, which gives them 26 points, good enough for last, and 13 points behind the next-last team, Prince George.

Vancouver 4 --- Prince George 6

Shots:
VAN: 32
PG: 42

Goals:
VAN: Rouse, McEvoy, Kieser, Franson
PG: Ericcson (2), Tkatch, Belter, Bourke, Hanes

Goalies:
VAN: Jared Rathjen, 5 GA, 36 SVS
PG: Mac Engel, 3 GA, 10 SVS
Ty Edmonds, 1 GA, 18 SVS

Three stars of the game:
1. PG 15 Jari Ericsson 2G 1A
2. VAN 27 Jackson Houck 1G 1A
3. PG 5 Jordan Harris 2A

Jackson Houck and Riley Kieser both had 2-point games. This time it was Jakob Stukel's turn to be a -4. The Giants record is now 13-41-0-0, almost guaranteed last place, with the maximum number of points they can get being 52, 8 more than Prince George's point total right now. Looks like there was some sort of scrap between Dalton Sward and Zach Pochiro, with 15 and 10 PIMS respectively.

Do the giants really have 0 OT/SO loses? I find that hard to believe

If you're going to be, maybe don't start this year. It will just bring pain and agony.

So what if their lossing right now. Let them become a fan when ever they want . Not trying to be harsh Jagermeister. Look this franschised hasn't missed the playoffs since their first year. Even after their Championship runs to the cup, Everybody thought that the Giants would be rebuilding ,but instead they just reloaded. This is the first time I had to admit that this year is a rebuilding year, But The Giants have one of the best Gm in Bonner, A great coach in Don Hay, and of course great Ownership .
Kamloops,Kelowna ,Portland, all great franshices had there share of ups and downs.
Just be thankful you don't have Owners like Brodsky in P.G Or Seeing what Burke and Porter did to Chilliwack? Bonner is reloading for the future by getting rid of his vets and getting the younger players playing time for experience. I really believe this team isn't going to bring you pain and suffering much longer. Jagermeister I always believe what my prof said to me "Small pain long gain".

For the Giants Family Day matinee, they got blown out of the water by the league-leading Portland Winterhawks. Ty Rattie led the way with 5 points (4G, 1A). Brendan Leipsec also had a 4-point game (1G, 3A), and Portland's top line of Leipsic-Petan-Rattie were each +4. NHL top prospect Seth Jones had 3 assists to give him 42 points on the season. Goalies:

3 Stars of the Game:
1. KAM 9 Colin Smith
2. KAM 22 Kale Kessy
3. VAN 6 Arvin Atwal

Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver B.C
Attendance: 5 106

This was a chippy game, with 16 PIMS in roughing and unsportsmanlike handed out, as well as a fight between JC Lipon and Jason Trott. Former Giant and Phoenix Coyote draft pick Kale Kessy got two points (1G 1A), while Avalanche prospect Colin Smith (1G 1A) and Flyers prospect Brendan Ranford (2A) all had multi-point nights. The Giants are back in action on Friday as they visit the Seattle Thunderbirds, perhaps a chance for a win to boost the 'ol confidence.

The Giants win a thriller in overtime, as Arvin Atwal scores just 23 seconds in to seal the victory. He is the first Giant defenseman to score in back-to-back games this season. Good North Delta kid. Cain Franson scored his 22nd of the season with under 10 minutes left in the game to tie it up.

Damn!! signing this kid is huge !! The Owners and management of this team are stellar . This rebuild is efficient , calculated , and incredibly fast .. Next years team will be one of the youngest in the league and full of 1st and second round draft picks . We are gonna have a blast watching these guys for the next 5 years !! How cool to see the stars of tomorrow in a Giants jersey . Im guessing well win the memorial cup within 3 years, and if we get Tyler Benson { which is likely } We are going to be so much fun to watch win or lose, but dont be a bandwagon fan .. You gotta support em through the good and bad times ..

Carter Popoff sored 2 points (1G 1A)... this was the Giants second overtime game in two nights... Cain Franson has score tying goal with under 5 minutes in both... this is the Giants first non-regulation loss this season.

The Giants finally return home from this USA road trip for a short home stand.

3. KAM 3 Sam Girst

This game started off with a bang, as Flyers prospect Brendan Ranford scored just 10 seconds in, and Chase Suoto scored a minute later. Even though it wasn't the results the Giants fans wanted, it would've been a helluva game to go to. Orban and Houck each had 12 PIMS, and captain Wes had 15. On the Kamloops side, Joel Edmunson had 15 PIMS and projected 2013 first round pick JC Lipon had 31. At the 13:37 mark of the second period, Vannieuwenhuizen got 5 for boarding and a game, Lipon got 5 for fighting and 2 for the instigator, and Orban got the fighting major. And at the 18:37 mark of the third, Lipon got 2 for kneeing, 2 for roughing, and a 10. Houck got 2 for roughing and a 10, Edmundson got 10 and Orban and Willick each got fighting majors. There were two other fights in the game, Geertsen vs Edmundson and Atwal vs Macklin. Somehow, no Kamloops player ended up getting more than 2 points and no Giant was worse than -3

The Giants get back on the right track with a win against a bubble team in the Seattle Thunderbirds. After a fun, fight-filled game against Kamloops, the boys toned it down tonight and got the two points. There were a couple roughing scrums, Blake Orban found himself in the middle of most of those. Cain Franson and Brendan Rouse each had 1G 1A for 2 points, as Franson hopes to top the 30-goal mark this season.

The Giants finally had their luck turned around against the red-hot Kamloops Blazers. Kale Kessy's luck against however, continues to go against his former team. I have no official stat but I'd bet that he's gotten at least a point in every contest against the Giants since he was traded. Arvin Atwal got into it with Chase Suoto and got 15 PIMS. The Giants had a couple of multi-point nights, Brendan Rouse (2G), Cain Franson (1G 1A), and Carter Popoff (2A). As he nears 30 goals, one wonders if Franson gets another call to prospects camp and maybe a contract this time around. I remember reading an article by Drance before the season started, hoping that Franson could do what Jordan Martinook did last season by hovering up and down for a few years then going out and getting a 40-goal season and was drafted in the second round. Franson won't get 40 goals, but he also didn't have Brendan Gallagher on his wing. 30 should be a good goal for the last 8 games of the season. Either way, I wish all the best to Cain, would be nice to get both Franson brothers ;).

In other news, Minnesota wonderboy high schooler Alec Baer will make his Giants debut tonight, on Gordie Howe night. There are a number of former NHL stars in the vicinity, including Marcel Dionne and Brett Hull. The Giants are expecting close to 10 000 people tonight!

Gordie Howe night at the Pacific Coliseum was a good one, with the Giants getting their third straight win! After Michael BublÚ sang happy birthday to the man of the night, things went going right away. Arvin Atwal had another fight, his second in as many games. A couple Giants had multi-point games, Carter Popoff (2G 1A), Arvin Atwal (2A), Taylor Vickerman (1G 1A), and Dalton Sward (1G 1A). Russell Maxwell of Lethbridge also had 2G 1A. A couple Giants have gone on big point streaks during this streak, with Popoff getting 6 points (4G 2A) in 3 games, Travis McEvoy (3, 2G 1A), Cain Franson (5, 2G 3A), Brandon Rouse (4, 3G 1A). Rookie Alec Baer played in his first WHL game, getting no points and going -2. Only thing that's not going right now is that I would like to be Houck get more points, especially if he wants to get drafted this summer. In honor of Gordie Howe night, Marcel Dionne, Bobby and Dennis Hull, Orland Kurtenbach, Jim Robson and Jonny Bower were also in attendance.
