Any tips? Just a small slightly visible black mark right on the centre of my jersey.
Only wanting to wash that spot rather than the entire jersey, so any tips on what to do/use?

Edit: Is it safe to use detergent on the crest?

Don't wash your jerseys or try to remove stains.
The marks, stains, and smells must stay on the jersey to tell its story.

My dad uses a bit of Oxy to remove the Coke stain I had on the crest of my vintage stick-in-rink jersey. Dunno how exactly he did it without ruining the crest.

If it's marker, I wouldn't use Tide to Go. I had a bit of marker on my work uniform so I tried a Tide to Go, but it only spread the stain.

Depends on what it is. If we're talking ketchup, relish, dog poo, etc. then wash it. If it's blood from the time you fearlessly blocked a shot with your face or dropped the gloves with someone who gooned your teammate, leave it.

Hydrogen peroxide. The brown bottle kind available in any drug store for $2-$4. For disinfecting open wounds. It's the secret cleaning element that the big cleaning companies don't want you to know about.

Just put a dab on the spot, let it soak for a few seconds, and rub it out with a damp cloth. Rinse and repeat if needed. It's bad for your fingers, of course, but it's diluted enough to avoid severe damage.

I use it everywhere, esp. for carpet stains, and it gets almost everything out. Better than any other 'stain remover' i've seen. And... Cheap!

Another thing i've tried on my white hockey jersey was white toothpaste. A lot of brushing will get stains out for the most part. At least fade it substantially.

i have a vintage white stick and rink from several years ago and i've stained it with many cups of coffee. simply washed and dried like normal laundry and it is as good as new each time.
Why is everyone so against washing their jerseys?

I was being melodramatic (is that the word?).
Of course you can wash your jersey, its just faux pas.

Just get really drunk after the game at your friends place and then forget your jersey there. After a year when meeting up in Vernon have it returned fresh and clean and stain free.

At least that worked for me.
