The Vancouver Canucks have re-signed goaltender Eddie Lack to a two-year extension.

The 24-year-old Lack appeared in 46 games with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League last season, finishing with 21 wins, 20 losses and three ties. The native of Norrtalje, SWE, finished the season with a 2.31 goals-against average, ranking him ninth in the AHL in that category.

In five Calder Cup playoff games last season, he posted a 2.17 GAA to rank seventh among AHL goaltenders in the playoffs.

Lack was originally signed by the Canucks as a free agent on April 6, 2010.

Less than I thought he would get.

He is good enough to be a back-up now but when we look at goalies, patience is a virtue. Goalies such as Schneider and Howard spent tons of time in the AHL and they both developed amazingly. Others such as Mason who was rushed, flopped.

So in other words another year in the AHL would serve him well.
