What I loved about that was it was a totally clean hit, but O brien right there to defend his team mate

People hate on OB, but at least he was always the first guy to defend one of his teammates whether we were in the wrong or not.

I wish Edler could play like that every shift.

But Linden vs. Norton hands down best hit ever.

1.) Bure on Churla
2.) Peca on Mogilny
3.) Linden breaking the glass

Recent stand outs:

Rome obliterating Horton and the NHL playoff suspension system's credibility.

Mitchell on Toews.

Ballard all the time.

I'm saying Aladeen a lot because http://forum.canucks...dpost__10922428

I bet when Schneider turns 38, he will have broken all of Luongo's records.

Willie's hit on Toews is in a class with Scott Stevens' finest.
Linden's glass smashing hits are the signatures of the organization.

Scott Stevens hits were hunted down and intended, Mitchell's hit was more spontaneous. Stevens stalked his victims.

I don't buy your correction/distinction - "intended" vs "spontaneous". They pretty much lined these players up and drilled them - and Mitchell's hit would be worthy of making that top 10 you posted.

...and got right back up and got back into the play. No whining at the ref, no retaliation. No wonder we dumped him.

Peca on Selanne. I also loved the Mitchell hit on Toews. Both were dirty though.

Good call. Peca on Selanne was the first hit that came to mind when I saw the title.
