With the election season officially underway, this deserves an official poll. No 3rd options, no "Ron Paul 2016!", just a simple 2-way vote. Would you go Democrat with Obama and Biden, or Republican with Romney and Ryan? And most importantly, WHY?

Neither are the best options, but if they vote Romney in they're screwed.

Gary Johnson. His beliefs are the closest to my own and I suggest anyone else google the guy and be astounded that independents like him are out there but the main parties continue to offer Americans more of the same crap.

It's unfortunate that independents or third parties have no chance in America's current political system. The best they can hope to do is to play spolier to, ironically, the party whose views are most aligned with their own. Although in Johnson's case, I'm not sure which party that would be.

At the rate Obama's been "fixing" things I expect the federal deficit to reach $20 trillion.

I'm generally more right wing than virtually all of CDC, but this isn't even a question in my mind.

Obama.

I visited his campaign website and many of his ideals were reasonable, except for gun regulation.

Its sad how this is the first time I've heard of him, yet nut-jobs like Herman Cain, Bachmann, Perry, Santorum, Gingrich have all gotten huge coverage over the course of campaigning.

Deficit was never the issue, always borrow in times of financial hurt. Not raising the debt ceiling, that sound more like your people - which was btw the real reason you defaulted.

The two you aforementioned wouldn't cut defense spending or tax the rich, so explain to me how you cut the deficit when you don't have a revenue stream?

I think it is pretty obvious to my fellow CDC users who i have/would vote for .
and there are many reasons for this , but the one that overrides all the others is the fact that romney believes that an angel called moroni told a polygamist that there was a book made of gold leaves , and that book says jesus came to america , and the BS just keeps on flowing .

obama is far from perfect ,but I believe he actually gives a crap about the american people .

Funny thing is, over the years, my politics have mirrored my hockey playing.

I was a right winger for most of my minor hockey and rep days, but lately I spend most of my time at center... :)

Center's a good spot, although it depends on exactly who you're in the center of.

Bob Dole would have been in the center of Obama and Romney, which shows how far right the center has shifted, since his days.

But, back to you.....I can respect being 'right' on some issues and 'left' on others. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever. It's very Chris Rock of you.

They do what businesses want. Why do you think that flip flopper Romney got close to $3million donated over night from an anonymous company that shut down immediately after? Yet people like Ron Paul get no funding or media attention whatsoever. It's hilarious, the whole "voting" system is a joke.

To be completely honest, for me it would be a tough call if I had to pick between the two. Romney comes off as a raving lunatic much of the time, but his record as governor of Mass. is solid economically and I hope some of his socially conservative preaching is just rabble-rousing.

On the other hand, we can trust Obama not to outlaw abortion, etc, but he has shown a systematic inability to deal with the Republican congress or manage the deficit responsibly. If I were an American, I would vote for Ron Paul; if I had to choose between the major party leaders, I would probably vote for Obama.
