I just read my THN magazine and it held this years Top 50 NHL Players and I can't say I agreed with all there choices, so why doesn't CDC give it a shot. Anyways these are mine,

Have you watched Ranger's games? Mcdonagh is clearly their #1 d man. He is a much more well rounded player than Girardi, as he is faster, better offensively, the same defensively, and about the same physically. I know it's hard to believe how good he is because of his age, but he very solid. Definitely a top-10/15 defender in the league.

yes, he is a great d man and i would agree he is a top 10/15 d man in the league but i still think girardi is better, girardi was definetely their #1 d man in the playoffs.

he blocks shots, is one of the best shutdown d man in the league and he still puts up points. i think girardi and mcdonagh is one of the best d pairings in the nhl and at the very most i would say girardi=mcdonagh but thats a stretch.

plus girardi made the all star team, though mcdonagh is grossly underrated
